I’m having a backyard wedding at my grandparents victorian estate. It’s going to have a vintage 1940 feel. Not the typical, uber glamorous, old Hollywood. But what a 1940’s wedding really would have been, elegant, simple, all about the couple and family.
I need help with ideas and pictures for the setup and decor please!

We’re doing an outdoors theme but are keeping it simple and having some vintage/historical history stuff included.
One of the rooms in our venue is very victorian and has two mantles, couches, victorian chairs, etc. Just a nice homie seating area where alot of older guests like to sit during cocktail hour if its too hot on the wrap around porch. I am placing pictures of My Parents Wedding Photo and Grandparents(both sides) on one mantel and same for my grooms family on the other in large, oval frames.
In that room I am also displaying my Grandmothers Wedding gown on a nice antique stand.
Our guest table is going to have an opened old suit case to collect cards with black and white/faded photos of our ancestors pinned on the back.

What about displaying old hat boxes or something to collect cards? Lay some nice vintage scarves inside/ a few pairs of gloves perhaps and just lean them at diff. angles on one another/stack them etc. Just an idea.
