Do you think that she would be okay with having the candy bar at the rehearsal and you do your candy bar at the wedding?  Could you perhaps send her pictures of the candy buffet that you love and ask her to send pictures of ones that you like and then you can come to a compromise that way.  There is always the “so and so is allergic to xyz candy, oh you bought 10 bags of that cheap sh.t, sorry, i hope you kept the receipt i’d have for them to go into anaphylatic (sp?) shock during our first dance.: 😉

It depends on your goal, I think… if your goal is to have the perfect wedding then you definitely need to figure out a plan. But if your goal is to have good relations with your Mother-In-Law, then I might consider letting go of the candy bar…

Good luck!!

Yeah… I mean it’s just a candy bar, no one will really notice if it’s gourmet candy or not, and actually the less expensive stuff is the more nostalgic type that was eaten as a child.  I have a question, can you make little tags on it like around the bottle that say what type of candy it is, that may give it more “class” so to speak.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting a perfect wedding!!

As for sacrificing your own happiness for the greater good…  I’ve only been married for 4-5 years, but I’ve noticed that there seems to be a lot of sacrifice involved!  But luckily, sacrifice goes both ways…  Mrs. Bee sacrifices a lot for me, and that makes my own sacrifices seem relatively small.

But sacrificing for your Mother-In-Law is a different thing – and potentially very tricky.  I’m sure the female members of the hive can give you better adbvice than me on that front. 🙂

OKAY YOU MUST take a picture of her with those gloves on in that aisle.  that should give you laughter like FUH-EVA! I am thinking of that episode of Lucy where they are stomping those grapes and all dressed up in the “sanitary” costumes!!! OMG HILARIOUS!! lol sorry that was my visual though… I think the candies will be fine dear… but have a color variation, blue candy can turn your teeth well… blue.i agree with mr. bee as well with the mil thingie being tricky. this is one day and your wedding, but err you have to live with her for the rest of your life too and you don’t want her mad at you for the next 85 years 😀
