So, I recently got engaged on my birthday last month, and some people are already asking if they’re going to be in my wedding party or not.
I know there’s a BUNCH of threads on this topic, but I can’t seem to find them. That’s why I posted one myself, so that I can see them all in one place.
Anyway, how did you ask your girls AND guys to be in your wedding party? I’m looking for DIY ideas to do so.

My Fiance just called his guys up and asked them. I asked my girls in person (although I may have texted one and I am so embarrassed by that!!). His best man is my brother and he sent him an engraved pocketknife with a nice printed card (he’s a graphic designer) to ask him. His sister is my Maid/Matron of Honor. I sent her a ring in the color of the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses that I wanted (for me, my grandmother makes jewelry so she got lucky with a real sapphire ring, but I think any nice ring could work). I included a card that said, “He popped the question, now it’s my turn- Will you be my Maid Of Honor?”

@WhiteWedding: Wow! That’s amazing!! I was thinking since I love to cook, and FH is a chef, to cook a special dinner just for the future wedding party. The thing is my family lives all over California & my FH’s family is all in New Jersey. So, IDK how I’m going to ask them all. You know? That’s why I want to send each one a special DIY or something that says “WOW!!!” to ask everyone.

I made bridesmaid boxes – i actually just posted them on here!! Here is what was in them..
Underneath says “Will you be my bridesmaid?” written on nice cardstock I put together 🙂
My Fiance got a bottle of his guys fav booze and I made up tags saying “Groomsmen?” and he is giving them out to his boys.

I proposed to my maids with ring pops! You can get creative with how you do these – Like for one bridesmaid, I had a server surprise her by bringing it out with her food at a lunch date. I got down on one knee for another. You can send them on a scavenger hunt for it and have a card with the question “Will you be my ______?” stored with it… lots of options! If you think of it like a proposal you can get creative!
Darling Husband took care of his side of the wedding party – I think he just asked them/said it would mean a lot.

@lorelai: I like the scavenger hunt idea!! I actually asked my winter formal date in high school for my Junior year that way. I sent him on a scavenger hunt around school 😀 It was loads of fun!
Thank you all for your wonderful ideas. I actually came up with a few ideas mixed into one big `ol thing. I like to crochet and knit, so I’m going to make one scarf for each girl with their favorite colors, since I’ll be a fall/winter bride. Have a picture frame with our picture in it, with a bunch of cute little wedding hints in it, and a card that asks the girls.

We had an enagagement party where everyone was invited. We took a moment to step away with each of them individually and ask them if they’d do us the honour of being in our wedding party (I asked my girls and my fiance asked all this guys).

I wrote a poem and sent it to each one with a piece of chalk; the end of the poem instructed them to text me with an “I do” if they accepted. A few days later I started getting the picture texts of “I do’s” written in chalk on the ground! 🙂
