I’m so excited! We finally found the perfect small venue for our wedding!!! We are only inviting 50 guests so we are going for a relaxed intimate vibe. It’s an adorable, rustic, unused factory from the late 1900s, with nothing but fields and a river surrounding it. I know not the usual venue for a wedding and reception, but it’s got potential I think, and it’s only $20/hour so we can re-alocate the money saved into nice decor and catering since there’s no kitchen. It comes with eight 8′ buffet tables & 50 chairs. We have use of one room that’s 35’x26′, it has stairs in the back that lead up to a really ugly cement space that I have no idea how to cover, but has potential to be a photo area i suppose. There’s also an elevator lift. Two large, green windows that I would like to have open but they let in way too much harsh florida sunlight. Any ideas on how to hang curtains from the rafters without nails? Decorating the long brick (graffitied) wall? There’s 15 or more electrical outlets around this room. My idea is to have the bridal party enter up the stairs, down the isle to the green door at the other end, but I’m totally clueless how to decorate this area to look more like an alter area? On the other side of that door is a connecting deck area that we can also use possibly for cocktail hour while the room is being turned over for the reception. We can hang decor from the rafters and beams (christmas lights or lanterns?) and we have permission for candles and lanterns, but no holes, staples, or tape on any painted surfaces.
HELP! Any of you creative and crafty Bees have any ideas how we can decorate this place?
