hi girls! I finally caved and ordered the Aspen for myself…sad thing is, i have to wait until August to see my dress again!!!

I wanted to get everyone’s view on veils – do you think a long (chapel / cathedral) veil with a blusher would look good with the aspen? I’ve always wanted a veil with a blusher…however am wondering if it will be a bit too much detail. What do you girls think?

@pinkbumblebee:  i think a long veil would look great with the aspen as long as its simple. Congrats on your Justice of the Peace ๐Ÿ™‚

@mu_t:  I am excited for it too!  The wait is killing me!  You are going to make your own?  What are you thinking about making?

Six Bridesmaid or Best Man must be tough; trying to be considerate of what people want, making sure they look nice, and still keeping your vision can be overwhelming!

@pinkbumblebee:  A veil would lovely with Aspen. It already has the lace detail and that soft romantic vibe, I think it would be a nice compliment!

@pinkbumblebee: Yes, I am wearing a veil with my Dentelle but it doesn’t have the same train as the Aspen – one thing to watch though – I think you should have a totally simple veil with no lace as there is already so much going on with the back of the aspen that you don’t want to take away from it. With both the Aspen and Dentelle it’s a real ‘back’ dress. Are you going to wear a headband? I’m hesitating, there is a Justice of the Peace one that matches the exact middle of the Aspen and Dentelle but I’m worried it might be too matchy…

@fifiparis:  Simple veil sounds good! I tried a long one on before – it was really narrow (in width) and sheer and i really liked it. Am currently loving the idea of a blusher but afraid it would be too much!! (given that the detail in the front of the dress is also quite a lot). I’ve been googling for pictures of brides in the aspen / dentelle + veil with blusher…have not found any ๐Ÿ™

I dont think i would wear a headband – tried on a Justice of the Peace headband together with the veil, and it seemed like too much going on…however the headbands are really pretty. maybe i’ll end up getting the headband, and wearing it after I take off the veil (after the ceremony)….

how about you? are you getting a headband, and what type of veil are you planning to wear?

@FlapperGal:  haha not 100% sure… i like to pretend i’m crafty but most of my projects are failures. i just find most headpieces are crazy expensive. and the beading on willow is SO unique that i want something that kind of echoes it… so i feel like making it might be my best option… i’m going shopping with my mom for materials in 2 weekends… i’ll post progress photos (if i have any) once i get going!

Hi everyone!

The designer sent pics of the headpiece today!  Sorry they are so large!  She said they can still be adjusted if necessary.

She said the stryofoam head is smaller than real heads, and my noggin is pretty large.  What do you all think?

Thanks for your input.

@fifiparis:  I’ll be wearing Luna.  (I posted a pic on the last page)  The designer basically imitated the Poopy II headpiece that I adored. I actually think she did a better job mimicking the crystals and the loops on the gown than the original.  And, better yet, it was hundreds of dollars less!

@peonyinparis:  Thanks so much!

I am worried about that middle loop beilarger large. I want to to cover my forehend, but not go over my eyebrow…It’s so hard to judge without actually putting it on!

@FlapperGal: it will look amazing with luna (sorry i get confused with all these beautiful dresses and all these beautiful brides!) I think you’ll be ok with that middle loop, and worse case scenario you can pin it back a tiny bit further on your head.

@FlapperGal:  I think its gorgeous!  Will work beautifully with Luna!  If you’re worried about it falling to close to the eyebrow you should have some room to place it a bit back.

Ladies, I need help. I cannot find shoes! I need something with a heel between 3.5 and 4 inches max (3 inches is too short and over 4 inches is too large cause I don’t want to tower over my FI). Something that’s strappy, and dainty, and bedazzed. I’d prefer not to do a pump because I have big feet and I don’t want them to look bigger. Any suggestions?
