I just got my lab results from my OB appointment last week. On my wet prep it came back with possible clue cells and high bacteria. Will they stain these to find a more definitive answer?
I am hoping it is just a fluke since I don’t really have any symptoms of bacterial vaginosis except for increased discharge (without odor). I will call my MD tomorrow, just wondering if you could offer any insight.

I think they’ll probably treat you for BV, but a wet prep is something that is usually read right away so I don’t understand why your OB has results pending from a week ago. Most OB’s in my area either do their own wet prep in the office or do a rapid test for BV, yeast and trich that’s like a rapid strept test but for a different part of the body lol. Also, “possible” clue cells doesn’t really make sense, either they’re there or not… Having BV isn’t a big deal, they’ll give you an antibiotic cream OR pill to take to treat it. And sometimes just increased discharge is the only symptoms, not everyone follows the text book.

I saw him Thursday and I think he was out on Friday. These were automatically released after so many days. I was confused too about the “possible” cells. The trich came bach negative. I will just have to see what they think. I really just don’t want to deal with the whole BV/yeast infection cycle.
