Hello fellow bees – I am in my first month off the pill after being on it for 12 years. I was wondering if any of you ladies got pregnant your first cycle off the pill. If so – how soon did you test for a BFP? I am on CD18/3dpo but this is based upon my 28 day cycle from the pill – not sure if it is going to stay the same. I guess I am just looking to see how many people had luck with their first cycle.

There are quite a few bees on here who got a BFP their first month off the pill. Not me though 🙂
are you sure of when you ovulated? Are you temping, doing OPK’s etc? I ask because everyone is different for O date – and your cycle changes after coming off birth control. My first cycle off, I O’d on CD18. The next it was CD17. This most recent, I O’d on CD16.
generally, wait until AF is late to test. Even the most e sensitive tests won’t pick up until 8 or 9 sports at the earliest. 11-15 dpo is much more common for getting the BFP

I did. I thought my period was late because my body was trying to regulate itself but after being a week late, I bought a test and BAM! I was pregnant. I was on the pill for 12 years as well. I am now almost 9 weeks prego.

I would echo @Glasgowbound:, temping is key. I thought it might be annoying but loved the info I had on what my body was doing, esp when combined with opks. I would just stumble to the bathroom so I didn’t wake Darling Husband, and temp and go back to bed on weekends.

I had 1 regular cycle off the pill (31 days) and then got pregnant my 2nd cycle.

I am not trying right now. But my sister in law found out she was pregnant the month after she stopped the pill. Well actually she was using the nuva ring. They originally thought it would take around 3 months to possibly get pregnant. But nope, it was right away.

Basically, yes. We didn’t try my first cycle off the pill, since my doctor recommended giving us a full cycle before trying. However, I got pregnant that second cycle off the pill. I had been on the pill for a long time…can’t remember how many years, but it was awhile!

Friends of ours did. They tested the morning of our wedding and were three weeks pregnant at that point (dunno where in cycle that would be). No open bar for her. 🙁
