Just wondering if anyone has tried LoLestrin Fe BirthControl Pill? I am currently on OrthoTriCyclen and have had a verrry low libido.. my gyno says this may help.. But I’m also worried about it breaking me out… How do you like it?

I took it for 6 months and loved it. My periods were so short and light! I haven’t had libido problems on any pill (I took ortho for years) but did with the nuvaring. I only took loestrin for a short time bc it was $25/mo and my generic was $4. I do miss that short period!

I took that for awhile too- Stopped my periods completely (which was scary but nice)

I still had low libido on it. Ever since I started bcp, aside from Yaz, i’ve had low libido. sucks.

It didn’t help me in the libido department, and I had crazy breakthrough bleeding on it…
That said, you should take all these responses with a grain of salt because everyone’s body is different. It might be worth a try for you.

@sunkissed19: I have had the exact opposite experience. Yaz made me feel like I had mono and Loestrin Fe 24 makes me feel like I’m myself. I’m not saying you’re lying (because I’m sure you’re not), just pointing out that everyone reacts to BCP differently and the best way to find out what works for you is through trial and error (with the guidance of an OBGYN).
As I said earlier, I’ve had no problems with Loestrin Fe 24. I have very short, light periods. I’ve been on it for about 5 years (I was on a generic version for a year in the middle but it was basically the same thing).
@LivyLovesPonies: I would try it out and see how it goes. If it doesn’t work well for you, then let your OBGYN know and you can try something else.

I have been taking it for 2+ years now and I love it. It’s expensive but awesome for me! I haven’t had a period in years (gyno is okay with this), and my sex drive is healthy. Skin is slightly worse than on previous BCPs, but not bad. Worth trying if you can get a couple months sample from your doc.

Yup, although I’m only on month 2. It’s actually the only pill I’ve taken (waited till marriage, so never had a reason for BC before). The only thing I’ve noticed personally is bigger breasts. No spotting, no noticable change in mood/libido. Only thing I don’t like is the cost, since there’s no generic form.

I am on Loestrin FE 24 and I think its great. I wish I could afford to do Lo loestrin but it was too pricy. I did try some sample packs of it and it was good but I couldn’t pay 100 a month for it (insurance didnt cover this brand)
You can go on the company’s website and they have these cards you can request which help reduce the cost of their products, the pharmacist enters it on top of your insurance, or just alone.. I pay 53$ for lo FE 24. I never have periods either.
