FH is recuperating from having his tonsils out, so we have started watching Lost together. So far we have finished the first season. I hate how violent/scary it is, but the flashbacks are so interesting, and it really sucks you in. Plus, it’s nice to have something FH and I can watch together; our tastes in TV are very different. Anyone else have any suggestions or feel the same way?
Note: I have only seen the first season, so PLEASE DON’T POST ANY SPOILERS! Thanks.

Best show ever… way back when I first started doing the “are we going to get together, aren’t we” thing with my now husband I had the first two seasons of LOST on DVD. He’d always make excuses that he needed to come over to watch an episode… definitely not just to hang out with me.

@guitargirl: Hands down the best show to ever grace our TiVo box. Fiance and I watched it religiously from episode 1. Make sure to not miss a single episode though, you’ll be totally lost if you do. There are some violent parts but the sheer awesomeness of the show makes up for it. Fiance and I are total LOST nerds and make Dharma references all the time.

My family and I were obsessed from day 1. FI didn’t watch it from the beginning so when he would watch the occasional episode he would ask a million questions! One of these days I am going to buy the boxed set and we can watch them all.

We were huge LOST fans and watched the first few seasons on DVD which was nice because we could skip commercials and didnt have to wait a week for a new episode!

Lost is one of my favorite television shows ever. The first and second seasons are really good; the third season dips a bit in quality, but then four, five, and six ramp it back up. It is definitely worth watching! Enjoy!

FYI- you can watch it for free (with limited commercials) on hulu.

I just saw a guy wearing a Lost tee shirt recently and I thought what a great show it was and how much I miss seeing it.

Without giving away any spoilers…Am I the only one who hated the ending? After six years of watching religiously, following fan forums, trying to decipher every secret, I felt completely cheated in the end. I knew they wouldn’t be able to explain most things and were digging themselves a hole, but it was a bigger copout than I expected it to be. I don’t think I would ever watch a rerun or my old DVD’s again.

@meliss: I loved the first 4 seasons. And the 5th was pretty good. Sometimes the show got really bad, but when it was good/addictive, it was REALLY great. I, unlike some of my friends, really enjoyed the “weirder” aspects of the show. But the entire final season was horrible. And especially the last episode. I am a creative writing professor and will not get into all the reasons the structure of the final season so upsets me, but I’d just like to say I agree with you.

It’s a great show. I didn’t like it at first and SO did even though we watch some different t.v. shows. It was a really great show have fun watching it. It all starts to come together the fifth and sixth season. If you like lost you should watch the event on nbc at 9 on mondays it’s like lost meets 24.

I started watching Lost from the first episode and watched about the first three or four seasons religiously then just lost interest. Too much to keep track of, and somehow it didn’t seem worth it to me at the time. It is a very good show though.
Fiance and I both LOVE Breaking Bad. Somehow the feel of it reminds me of Lost, in certain ways. It’s definitely a bit grittier than Lost, but it’s just as gripping, and the plot line and acting are flawless. You might want to try that if you need more shows.

I’m a huge lost fan. I didn’t watch it from the beginning like most people but I did see an episode from time to time. I watched all previous seasons on Netflix (I love streaming video) so I was all caught up when the final season came on.
My Fiance is not a fan of the show at all and proceeded to make fun of it whenever I watched it when he was around.
