Hey – not sure where your budget is but here is what we have going on:

The ceremony is at the RMU chapel in Moon – they rent this out and it is gorgeous.  The rental includes their gardens for pictures:

Our reception is at the Holiday Inn in Moon.  They have 2 ballrooms.  One is smaller and gorgeous (see below) and one is huge and kind of boring.  They offer an all inclusive package which includes all food, cake (from signature desserts), floral centerpieces, 4 (5 hr reception) hrs of open bar, coordinator, all set up and take down, discounted hotel rooms and most decorations.  You have choices of almost everything and upgrade things if you want to… also the option of buffet or sit down.  The food is amazing!

Our photographer is Joe Hadinata http://joehadinataphotography.com/flash/.  His website is pretty outdated but we have met him and seen recent work and I talked to 5 diff brides who used him.  He is so friendly and he is great… he is on the lower end of photography.

We used first class limos who seemed to have the best packages and we used BPM dj’s who again, seemed to have the best packages for the great reviews.

I think this is everything… you can PM if you want specific prices! good luck!

Our venue is great, all-inclusive for like less than $40pp with the bar and everything. (The Alpine Room at the SNPJ) But it’s near New Castle, so that’s pretty far outside the city. Have you looked into The Fez in Aliquippa, the Mayernik Center or the Gathering Place at Darlington Lake?

It might take some extra work but you can TOTALLY do a wedding on that budget!

If you are open to an outdoor ceremony (or maybe even reception), look into parks. Google “Allegheny County Parks” and see which is close to you and go check them out. We have a TON in the area and they are very affordable.

Also Woody’s Catering in McKeesport has a really good reputation and awesome food. They have a ton of packages that start at like $16/person or something. If you check out their website, they also have a list of several venues.

A friend of mine also suggested going outside of Allegheny County since our sales tax is 7% and it’s only 6% in the surrounding counties. She said they saved THOUSANDS on taxes alone.

Places like Canonsburg, “little” Washington, Irwin, and Greensburg aren’t that far from the city but you won’t have to worry about Allegheny County taxes!

I’ve seen a TON of wedding receptions held at the Crown Royal Hotel in Moon. I dunno specifics, but DH and I were frequent flyers to that little bar and there always seemed to be a wedding party running around. Maybe check them out?

I am in the same boat!  If you’re into a rustic wedding, try Bell’s Banquets near Mt. Pleasant.  It’s beautiful and packages start at about $46 a head including bar, tax, gratuity, food, linens, everything.  Kind of incredible.  I wanted to do it there, but we ended up booking another barn that also has an outdoor space.  Good luck!

Our reception is at Quicksilver Golf Club in Midway, PA (only 10 minutes past Robinson and 6% sales tax).  The meals are in the $20-30 range and bar packages are under 20–with NO rental fee for the room.  They can also accomodate small ceremonies (too small for us unfortunately) there for $500.

Our photographer (and possibly my favorite vendor so far) is Lime-light Images.  They have been super great to work with so far.  Their packages are reasonable and they include engagement pictures and two photographers.

We’re likely going to use VistaPrint for the invites and save the dates (google for promo codes)…and I’ll be doing a lot of DIY too.

My friend had her reception at the Great Hall out in the North Hills area this past fall, her total budget was around 15k for 120 guests.  They allow you to byob which is a HUGE savings.

We’re having our reception at Peter’s Place in Bridgeville – we’re paying around $37/person which includes dinner and open bar for 5 hrs, and the cake is included too.  We lucked out in that there isn’t a fee just to rent the space for the day which we saw at some hotels.

We’re getting married at the Airport Marriott.  Depending on when you get married, the minimum on the 125 person ballroom is around $6500 in May, but goes way up in June.  We have out of town guests, so it’s awesome to use the hotel shuttle to get them to the hotel.  They also give great rates for hotel blocks.  ~$110/night, which isn’t bad for a hotel that normally runs 200+

Anyone know the prices for the venue at Darlington Lake? For approx 100 guests! Thanks in advance.

I’ve found the best way to get prices for locations is to call or email and ask.

I did my wedding for $20,000.  Palazzo in Washington PA is adorable and affordable.  Also – can’t remember their name, but florist in greentree was TOTALLY affordable.
