Lol I don’t know how to tag people either and yea I absolutely love it and I love the history behind it, and my fiance is a big paranormal buff so the fact that it’s “haunted” he said we have to get married there no question and I looked at the carnton plantation too it is beautiful but it was a little pricey for me to afford since I am paying for the wedding by myself I am sure your wedding is going to be absolutely beautiful. What are your colors?

lol… We are really just playing off the colors of the garden, but my bridesmaid dress is a dusty violet but there will be hints of gray and teal, since that is the colors of the house… But we had a venue disaster with on the three month mark with our first venue, and carnton was the back up plan (though it was our dream venue lol), but we had to book a thursday wedding because of what we had budgeted for the first one… Complete suck, but i know this will be way better… but what’s your colors? So what do you have planned so far?

Our colors are black and red with damask accents as far as what I have planned we have already booked the venue, I bought my dress, I started making centerpieces…mostly because I am still deciding on the exact look I want to go with, I picked out the style of the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses but we haven’t quite found “the dress” yet, I have gotten most of the things for the candy bar(except the actual candy since we still have 9+ months), got all the table linens and most of the decorations. I am really slacking on finding an officiant I really need to do that soon, and sometime in the next week we will be going over the catering menu, I am sure that will be wonderful lol. And don’t worry about your thursday wedding, mine is on a monday so you’re not alone

Way more than i have put together and im two months out lol… I love demask! So i think those colors with a cool design will be awesome. I actually planned on getting a more exspensive dress but i ended going to Bridal Warehouse in Goodlettsville and found one that looks just like the other, just wayyyyy cheaper. Even though their salespeople are stupid, they have tons of dresses and they can order a dress from that designer without the actually dress being in the store, so i bought Ella Rosa be 123. I really wanted a candy bar but i couldn’t find those really cool jars, we happened to be in tj maxx and found a huge set of antique plates and i have a friend that likes to bake, so we are making a bunch dessert stands from a design i found in martha stewart wedding mag… I don’t even want to talk about catering, that has been a hot mess of a deal lol, we still don’t know what we are going to do, so i hope you have better luck!

I went there too, and their sales people are in fact stupid but I found a dress that was more than I could bring myself to spend so I found an even better one for sale online from another bride but it is similar to the one I originally liked, just more sparkle lol. As for the candy bar I have done a lot of jar hunting at the good will and just done some mixing and matching but the dessert stand thing sounds way better I think it will be gorgeous and I am sure people will take cupcakes and cookies that are homemade over candy any day. Sorry your catering has been so terrible, I haven’t decided on the menu yet so hopefully it will go smoothly, my biggest issue is going to be trying to provide some gluten free options for one of my guests, I imagine it is going to be a bit of a hassel, I was told “we will just figure something out”…I hope so. And you can always do a potluck if the catering doesn’t work or just have a few good friends who like to cook help out

My sister is thinking of getting married in this area. Do you ladies know of any vegetarian-friendly venues?

I’m in GA, Waitkinsville to be exact (a little outside Athens). Do you have any idea where in ATL you  are having the wedding? My FI’s parents live in Roswell (right outside Atlanta) and they have soem beautiful venues there

@koi424:

Most any venue I looked at(which is a lot) offers a vegetarian menu option, just ask them and most places will make it happen

She’s very indecisive about it. She’s given up looking for now.

My dad grew up in Chattanooga. Her FI’s family is mostly in Memphis (but they don’t want to be super close to Memphis because then his entire extended family will want to come, lol) And she works a lot in Atlanta. They are currently living in Wisconsin and found a nice venue up there that works with vegetarians and also serves all organic and free range and grass fed, sustainable stuff. But they are worried no one will want to travel to Wisconsin.

So those are the places that are significant to her.

No offense to those that put a lot of thought into what they eat. I think that’s great. I’m just not one of those people so I don’t really get the subtleties of it. I wish I knew the right words to describe her feelings about food. She needs like an eco-conscious venue or something like that.

There’s Cheekwood botanical gardens, I am sure they are probably very aware of their carbon footprint but that is in Nashville. There is also the Memphis botanic gardens as well as one in Knoxville. And there is the Chattanooga Arboretum and Nature Center, they are most definitely about being eco- friendly, that’s all I’ve got….for now lol good luck to her
