I’m a May 2014 momma currently researching diaper bags. One place I’ve never skimped for myself is a nice handbag so I’m wanting a stylish diaper bag.
My main contender as of now is the Petunia Pickle Bottom Sashay Satchel and I wanted to know if any bees have one and what your opinions of it are?
I’ve read many great reviews although there are some people who say it isn’t big enough, there are not enough pockets, certain bottles (like Avent) don’t fit in the pockets and that it’s spot clean only.
I checked one out in the store and really liked it but there is no match for real (bee) moms opinions. Thoughts?
For what it’s worth…my other contenders are a Coach diaper bag followed by Vera Bradley…I’ve checked out Skip Hop, Ju Ju Bee, JJ Cole, etc. etc. and nothing interests me like Petunia Pickle Bottom, Coach, and Vera Bradley.
Thanks in advance!!

I have the Petunia Pickle Bottom Boxy Backpack. I’m due in January so I haven’t been able to use it yet. I like that it comes with different straps so I can either wear it as a backpack or carry it like a messenger bag. I have a lot of problems with my shoulder so the backpack option was the selling feature for me. The quality of the bag is amazing (as it should be for $189…lol). Fortunately I bought mine off of another mom for $50 and it looks brand new.
There are quite a few reviews of the PPB diaper bags on Youtube so you might want to give that a try too. I watched quite a few video reviews before deciding which bag I wanted. 🙂

@TheNewlyMrsD: I have a five year old- and I have used PPb Boxy Backpack, PPB Shoulder Bag (they discontinued these), PPB Touring Tote, PPB Sashay Satchel + the Weekender. Also the Cameo clutch. I also have a wallet, 3 Powder Room Cases, a train case, and the zip-up reuable tote- all PPB.
the boxy is the best for the mom who wants to pack everything and the house- it fits a lot, and is of course awesome because it’s a stylish backpack (or shoulder/messenger). I used the Touring Tote when he was a little older and we packed less. I still have one of them- I use it as a handbag for myself occasionally.
The Sashay Satchel was short lived because it came out as my son was getting older. I still used it- and loved everything about it. I’ve bought one as a bag just for me.
And all of the other bags/items are awesome and excellent quality. Totally worth the money, especially if you are into handbags (I am!)–
when we have another baby, I will likely get a Boxy, Weekender and a Sashay Satchel to switch between. If I have to reccomend- I’d say Boxy since I don’t know how you like to pack, and that’s the one that’s the best “general” one.

I’m interested in this so commenting to follow. I love the new embossed design in the city carryall or the boxy.
ETA: I too have back issues particularly between my shoulder blades and find it hard to carry a one shoulder for long periods of time

I have the backpack and love it! I would recommend the wipe able material as opposed to the fabric material. The whisper snaps on the front are a must too. I love that it has the roll out changing pad and it is plenty roomy for me.

@TheNewlyMrsD: Hi may moma, i just saw this. What did you end up deciding? I ordered the sashay satchel online but havent decided if i am keeping it yet. It’s a gorgeous bag but i am worried it’s too narrow. Gotta shop around a bit more before i decide. Am curious to know what you ended up deciding on!
