- Wedding: July 2010
I moved here about 6 years ago so I’m not from Montreal but I love it here. My fiancee and I bought a house together a few years ago so I am determined to have a budget friendly wedding and am trying to make a lot of things myself.
Wedding date: July 3rd, 2010
Ceremony: St. Raphael Golf Course in Ile Bizard
Venue: Stewart Hall in Pointe-Claire
Theme (if applicable): Since Stewart Hall has lake front view, I decided to go with a garden whimsicle theme. I decided to make about 40 pinwheels (yeah I’m crazy) to have as center pieces for the tables on the patio.
Other info: I am planning to also save money by using my peonies from my garden so I hope that they don’t bloom too early.
My wedding favors are homemade vanilla extract and vanilla sugar, I found a supplier on ebay and got 1lb of vanilla beans (which is about 120 beans) for about $45. I also found a supplier for the bottles in Brampton, ON so I didn’t have to pay for duties, I researched cheap vodka so the cost for all this? About $2.50/favor.
Along with the invites, I used a free wedding site for all of our guests (and out of town) to get details on our wedding and to RSVP to save on time and money (postage)
How about everyone else?
What are you doing to be thrifty?
