I am an active duty naval officer. If you get married before you are active duty you are unlikely to get access to any on base facilities. Once in basic and then during A school you won’t have much time to get married probably (you can never tell, classes change dates all of the time). If you plan to get married after A school at your first duty station, or even at the training duty station, you would have access to normal on base facilities like the chapel, banquet halls if the base has one, restaurants, all hands’ clubs, etc. I am not sure where MCs or HMs go to A school, so if you really want to plan a wedding at a navy base I would wait until you know your first real duty station. If you want to get married earlier for benefits I would plan it for your home town.

I agree with @dancingriss.

I am not sure how similar the Australian Navy is, but I would be very surprised if you manage to get much planning done during initial training. Are you religious? If you are, it might be a good idea to have a chat with the Padre on base as they are generally very good with suggestions and know-how. Good luck!

I’m royal navy, in training we were one the go 24/7 and you don’t have any contact with anyone at all for the first period pretty much, after that you get weekends and the rooms which have internet access and things. Don’t know how similar that is to everywhere else but since people have smart phones more and more now ut wouldnt be impossible, however it’s not what your mind should be on
