Hi Bees π
I am trying to find an Xmas gift for Fiance and I need a little direction.
Years ago, Fiance had to sell his cherished collection of old/rare video games because he needed the money. It gutted him, so I want to start helping him build it back up starting with Xmas this year.
I only want to buy games that are graded and encapsulated by VGA, but I’m just not sure which ones might be considered rare/classic games. I have an idea of what he would like and eBay has yielded some decent results.
Can any Bees out there help? I know this one is pretty specific, but I have faith in the Hive!

More information is definitely needed. Are these for a specific console or system? ANy idea what era? Do you know the names of any of the games he had? How much are you willing to spend?

Good list so far. π How about the gold-colored cartridge Legend of Zelda?

@techie: Excellent idea. Only thing is, to get the graded game for the original NES, it’s $900. Ho-lee-shit lol.

@stevoluvmunchkin: No graded copies I could find of Earthbound, and the other two are over a thousand each!
Damn! These rarer ones don’t come cheap. Any thoughts on what my best option might be out of the games listed?
@techie: No kidding. I actually found a copy of Xenogears (which he would DIE for), but it’s almost $300 and I just can’t do it. What do you like out of that list I posted?

Galaga and Mega Man are pretty good choices. If he’s in to RPGs, you might want to consider the Shining Force games too. I know we played the crap out of them as kids, mostly Shining Force 2.

@MrsCarnival: Thanks for the advice. I don’t see any graded ones available, but I will keep that in mind for the future.
