@DrAK:  A friend of mine got married April 30 and had gorgeous weather. But you can’t think about things like that because its uncontrollable. You need to be prepared if it should rain.

I am worried about that too and with my luck, it will rain

@Daizy914:  +1. I live in TX where the weather is pretty unpredictable. My mother was highly against us getting married in April because of the old saying “April showers brings May flowers” I wanted to get married in April because the weather usually starts getting unbearably hot in May whereas April may be in the nice 70s during the day. Well, I did not even have the thought of COLD FRONTS in April! That was just unheard of in TX but yes, 2 days before my wedding, we had a cold front which brought the temp down to the high 50s when my wedding happened and my wedding was completely outdoors (guests went inside the ranch house but that was only where we would cut the cake and toast and get food, everything else was setup outside). You always want to have a plan B no matter what.

From what I recall, it can be pretty cold in April, and the flowers haven’t even bloomed yet.  Then again, my BFF had a September wedding, and it was cold and rainy.

I got married on May 4, and it was absolutely perfect. It was like upper 70’s low 80s, no humidity, sunny skies. It was part of a streak of really great weather we had this year.

However, you never know with April/May. It is just as likely to be cool and rainy.  I don’t think April 30 will likely be freezing cold though. You need to hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

If you really want to ensure warm weather, book for mid-May through summer. But it can still rain – it can rain any day of the year. My ceremony and reception were indoors so it wasn’t much of a concern for me.

I was married on May 18th and it was overcast and a little chilly – 65 during the day, overcast with a few showers, and cooled down a little more at night.

I remember April 27th though – it was one year of our engagement anniversary and it was very nice weather – upper 60s and sunny

NYC around that time is a basket of surprises. Sometimes is cold, sometimes it rains, sometimes is just perfect.  I would say go for the date you wish and just have a contigency plan just in case.

I officiate a lot of weddings in Central Park here in New York City and I find April and May to be perfect.  June-Aug you get less chances of rain, but the heat is unbearable.
