Hi there,

I’m doing mine at the New York Botanical Garden in June, so not off season, but I did get pricing for a variety of times of year when I did it.  We initially were looking in September and then thought about Feb or March.  For a lot of weird reasons (conflicting dates with other family/friend weddings), we ended up in June.

AK offers much lower per head costs during the off-seasons PLUS the more important thing is that the minimum number of guests goes down.  For June at NYBG, they have big time minimums.  I am getting married on a Sunday evening and my minimum is 160 ppl.  For a peak Saturday night wedding, it was a 200 person minimum.  The price per head for us is I think around 170 plus taxes and an administrative fee of 20% (which isn’t a gratuity).  In the winter, I recall the prices were around $140-150 pp but I am not entirely sure.  They were definitely a lot lower than June.  That includes pretty much everything though including free valet parking for guests, food soup to nuts and premium open bar plus stations during cocktail hour etc.

I do have to say it has been a real pleasure working with them so far.  They are very nice and very professional.  The only thing that still is annoying is the no tasting policy, but I’ve heard from people who have gone to their events that the food is unparalleled in the catering world.

Anyway, I don’t regret picking an AK venue at all!  Good luck! Let me know if you have more questions and I hope this was helpful!
