UK-bee:  Thank you! I practically drooled over the filigree in the platinum do much that it took me a couple of months to even appreciate the diamond! Usually in vintage rings they’re of a warmer hue (as well you’d know!) But somehow this H doesn’t give me any warmth at all. My friend has a Cape Yellow and they look so different together. I really love the warmer colours for a bit of depth! But let’s face it, all of the gems are gorgeous in their own rights. Thanks for starting such a cool thread.

Loving the rings ladies!

UK-bee:  Men seem to be like that with the colour, lol! As though if you have a warmer colour people will look down on him – because we all ought to be versed in the four Cs and they don’t want to look as though they’ve been had!

Oh, you can’t mess with a vintage setting. I understand when you get that chunky yellow gold and it’s not to your taste and it will likely never be in fashion again but most vintage rings are a piece of history, classy and classic and therefore not to be messed with. I applaud your decision – you’d have been mad not to have been wowed!

I like the idea of having someone special to pass my 1930s wedding set onto one day. Hopefully by then they will be around 150 years old and still timeless, we’ll see.

Mine’s a family heirloom diamond. I’ve been told it’s an old mine cut, but it’s round instead of cushion shaped, so it may be an OEC? I always share it when I see these types of posts!IMG_20150805_131548

I have an old mine cushion diamond.  It belonged to my husband’s grandmother.  I love the chunky facets and the art deco setting!

I have an oec diamond ring. We are going to get it reset into a vintage style ring someday. (probably with rose gold) I love all the old diamond shapes.

Drizzle:  It just occurred to me. Your ring looks like Princess Anne’s.
