So my Darling Husband and I have been going back and forth (fighting…MUST GET OFF THIS SHIP…..) about TTC.
He of course thinks he has SUPER sperm that will knock me up the second we try.
I am the worrier. The thing is, that we both came into this marriage wanting a big family. We originally both wanted 4 but realistically we have said 3 would be fine… 2 a must.
But we arent going to even start to TTC until I am 33.
I know Celebrities do it all the time. But any one else out there have a larger family starting so late in life?
Part of me thinks we should start today even though he isnt citizen yet and we dont own a home etc.

@nonapkns: sure do:)
Everyone seems to be having children later. At the moment I know 4 girls over 35 pregnant all with their second or third baby. Only one of these women used clomid to help them ovulate.

Well they say you should wait at least 2 yrs between pregnancys, add in about a year for actually being pregnant and you are at 9 already. If it were me, I’d start today. You could always remind Darling Husband if you are having kids at 40 you won’t be free of them or their college bills until retirement age. 😉
And about the home thing, babies don’t know where they are or care their first few years. Not a big deal.

My mom! She had me (her first) at 33, my brother at 38, and my sister at 42. She said it took her 1 month to get pregnant with me and only 6 to get pregnant with my sister at 42.

Yes, but they had them close together. 3 kids in something like 49 months? It seemed a little crazy to me, but at least it was all over and done with.

Okay… so it happens. I know that means absolutley nothing to me personally, but it makes me feel better.
@Holly77: Not even sure what Clomis is… researching it now. I have also decided to start charting and getting my body in shape starting in June.
@lovemygsp: Trust me I am trying…. right now he has agreed to a jan start date but that seems forever away!

I’m hoping to be one of these women. I want 2-4 kids and I am getting married this fall. I will be 32 when we marry and we are planning to start TTC as soon as we are married.

Yes, I know some families like this.

@nonapkns: My mom had kids at 27, 30, 32, 35. So 3 kids passed 30 but she had her first at 27, does that count?

Do you mean starting in their 30s? Because my grandmother had 7 kids, 3 of which were after 30, but she started a 18. She had them at: 18, 20, 24, 26, 32, 37, and 40.

@nonapkns: Yes, my sister. Had 3 kids at between 31 and 35. And I can think of a couple of friends with more than 3 kids who I’m pretty sure had their last 3 after 30.

@Stargaze31: Yippee! another bride like me. I was lurking on the TTC and wating boards but most girls are in the early to mid 20’s….. it was starting to freak me out!
@everyheart: I dont know if it “counts” if you start earlier. Is their any statistics that say if you had kids in your 20’s it will e easier to concieve in your 30’s.

@nonapkns: I think the big difference is the quantity & quality of eggs. I don’t think that changes if you had children starting earlier.
