Just wanted to see if there were any other 4th brides out there. I know some people find choosing this date for your wedding “tacky” but for us it really made sense. My family already usually has a party for 250 guests (our venue will be my parents backyard but with ~100guests), we love the feeling of summer/July weddings, and, most importantly, with both of us in grad school the summer was the only time to get married for 3+ yrs. Plus, doing it on a holiday gives us a better reason to get time off our required praticums that summer. We realized that it can be a difficult time but we hope people will take the time off as a holiday (we will be providing accommodations) and it is a great time for a party! And fireworks! Anyways, any other 4th brides or people considering the fourth???

Hi! I’m not a fourth of July Bride (I’m marrying two days after :)) But I just wanted to say there’s nothing tacky at all about it. I think the fact that it will be at your family’s backyard makes it very convenient for your guests and most people can get that day off w/o a problem. But that’s what invitations are for too. Plus, you’ll always have fireworks for your wedding anniversary! 😀

Totally a fourth bride as well, we picked it because it was the day we met “again.” And started the beautiful relationship that is turning into a wedding. We dated way back in middle school lost touch after high school and remet at our town’s fourth of july middway and have been inseperable ever since. 🙂 It was a no-brainer, we will almost always have the day off – and fireworks every year on our anniverssary!!! We avoided the red, white and blue buy doing royal blue and lime green as our colors and then just had to deal with the fact that it is also my cousin’s birthday lol.

Anybody else encounter the problem of finding a hairstylist for the fourth? So many places are closed….

Yay for July 4th brides! It really is a relief to know I’m not alone haha.
@Long_Love Cancun! That’s going to be awesome. You have some lucky guests.
@luckduckinlove Such a cute story! I love when couples have personal meaning behind their wedding dates. As for hair/MUP, we have some family friends who own a salon who are doing it as their gift to us. I can totally imagine how it would be difficult to find someone though. You might have more luck with an independent artist versus a salon as they might be more willing to work a few hours, say in the morning, knowing they’ll be able to make money and still have the afternoon off.

@NJFRegan: Hi Date Twin!!! We got lucky my hair dresser and her sister-in-law agreed to do our hair at my parents house. Thank goodness one less stress, just need to find a make-up artist now! lol
