I am 6 feet tall. I am used to being tall. I’ve been that way my whole life 😉
However, I am SO jealous of all the ridiculously awesome wedding pumps all you Bees are buying. I want a pair of sparkly champagne coloured pumps to wear at my wedding SO BADLY. But my FH is 6’3″ (tall enough for me) and I don’t want to tower over him. I also don’t want to wear flats because…yuck.
It is impossible to find shoes that have a 2 inch heel that are dressy enough for a wedding!
Any other tall brides have this problem? Or any other tall girl related wedding problems??

I never reached 6′ but I was always THAT girl in school group photos. I’m sure you know her – she’s in the back row, towering over all the boys…
I’m not going to be any help to you, either. I’m a bit on the klutzy side, and the venue has hardwood flooring, so I’m wearing flats.
Where’s @MlleFabuleux:? She always has awesome suggestions!

@ChelseaBells: I’m 6′! Have you looked online at Zappos or Nordstrom? That’s what I did. In addition to being so tall, I also wear a size 12 shoe, so finding shoes was hard. Zappos and Nordstrom were the best because you can easily buy and return.

@ChelseaBells: I have nothing helpful to say other than that I sympathise with you hugely and that I am also dreading the shoe hunt! As a 6foot tall girl I have always dreamed of finding a fantastically tall man so I could wear gorgeous high heels on my wedding day. Instead I have ended up with a man 2 inches shorter so I will be searching everywhere for flats.

@PimmsBride: I SO sympathize with you! Almost all of my exes were shorter than me, and I am just happy that my FH has at least a couple inches on me!
It’s not easy being tall….

@Mrs Canuck: Yup, in every school picture. I am in the back row, in the center. For once I want to be in the FRONT row!
I was planning on wearing flats at the reception, because I plan on getting down on the dance floor and really don’t feel like slipping and falling dancing in heels. (I, like you, am ridiculously clumsy)
So let me ask you then, what do your flats look like? Are they dressy? Sparkly? Do tell!

- Wedding: March 2014 - Brazil Room
I am 6’0″ tall and my guy is only 5′ 5 1/2″ … so it really doesn’t matter what shoes I wear because I’ll still tower over him. I saw some pretty awesome shoes on Nine West that had a 2 1/2″ heel. I think wedge heels are more comfortable in general, so that’s probably what I’ll get 🙂

@MrsJX3: I hear you! I am size 10.5 or 11, so it’s really hard to find shoes. And as much as I would love to shop at Zappos or Nordstroms, I live in Canada and oftentimes the shipping ends up costing more than the shoes themselves!
You ladies in the US are lucky when it comes to shoe selection. So many options!!

@ChelseaBells: Another Amazon in the house! 6 feet tall and love every minute of it! Mr. 99 stands a good four inches over me, our wedding was really small and low key so I just wore ballet slippers, comfy, pretty and they look neat in the shadow box I made for our wedding! Either way, it doesn’t matter much, I’ve got really tiny feet for someone so tall, I wear and 8.5 to 9 size shoe.
I don’t really have many complaints about it, until I run across some asshole who just cannot shut up about how much taller I am than he is…how it’s hurting his neck to look up at me and I must have to bend down to get in the door of most places…blah, blah, blah….that’s about the time Mr. 99 shows up and tells the guy if he’s too small to play, maybe he should get off the field and find the Kiddie Section, then I feel better.

Just under 6 foot…I wore sparkly flats at our wedding so I wouldn’t be the same height at Darling Husband.

I’m 6′ or almost there. I might have been 5’11 and 1’2 last time I was measured. I’m wearing blue flats because I’m used to always wearing flats. Though there definitely are some gorgeous shoes some of the bees on here have for their weddings!

I feel your pain! I’m the runt of dad’s side of the family at 5’9″, most of the women are right around 6′. My problem is that I have a 34″ inseam. So the dress will have to be taken up at the waist, leaving little to nothing to hem. I’m looking at pretty minimal heels if any. All the 1-2″ heels just look matronly to me, I feel like I’d look like a little grandmother heading to church on Sunday morning. At this rate, I’m heading rapidly towards sparkly ballet flats.

@Nona99: I wish I could pull off ballet flats, but our wedding is very formal, and I just don’t think I would feel right wearing anything besides heels (at the ceremony anyway)
I DID however convince all of my bridesmaids to wear 4 inch heels to help balance me out (haha, all those poor groomsmen are going to have their partners towering over them!)
@kes18: I am used to wearing flats too, but I just want something special to wear on my wedding day, you know? Are your blue shoes sparkly??
@MariContrary: I actually had to order my wedding dress in extra length…I really don’t want to pay to have it hemmed (I already am having a bunch of other alterations made on it) so I am hoping that a 2 inch heel would allow my dress to fall the perfect length. But you are so right! 1 to 2 inch heels are just ugly for the most part…Have you found any cute ballet flats online that you like?

I’m 6’1″! I never wear heels, and find them really uncomfortable, so I actually wore a pair of brightly colored, fun flats! Between pictures, the ceremony, dancing, and mingling, we were on our feet so much that I knew i’d hate myself if I wore heels!

Also, ladies – Jcrew.com has really cute, well-made shoes in a bazillion colors, and they come in sizes up to 13 or 14, I believe :-).
