I did the Atkins couple years ago and had a ton of success!  Lost about 85 lbs in 3.5 months 🙂  Tried to do it again and can’t seem to commit!  I really need to since the big day is in less than 2 months!

I would say stick with white meats (pork, chicken, fish)  Try to stay away from pop even if it is diet and drink a lot of water.  Be sure to eat rich greens.  No fruit 🙁  Do not eat a lot of processed cheeses and dairy either.  The first two weeks you are allowed 15 daily carb intake.  Be sure to check ingredients on all products too 🙂

What is your day to day menu now that you are on Atkins?

@MrsLongcoatPeacoat: I did this 10 years ago and also lost around 16 pounds. Though, it made me dizzy and I couldn’t lose anymore weight with it. When I started eating normally (inc. carbs) I put on the weight I’d lost, plus more. I then started to eat a balanced diet that included chocolate even, but ate everything in moderation and became more aware of portion sizes and also became more in touch with my body so I actually started to leave some food on my plate at the end of a meal. Over the past few years i’ve gone from a British size 16 to a 10, US equivalent 14 – 8. I was a UK 12, US 10 last year and felt I’d accomplished something but today going shopping I tried a UK 10 (US 8) and couldn’t believe it.

Sorry for the story.

@MrsLongcoatPeacoat:  Atkins is very bad for you.  I feel like it is worthless to say anything, because people are going to do what they are going to do- but it is much healthier to do a well balanced diet like Prewitt

@MrsLongcoatPeacoat: Oh that’s good then. I still can’t believe i’m such a low size, i’ve been a 10, when I was at high school I went from an 8 to a 12, a friend gasped when I told her this, the odd thing was that I wasn’t fat at all but I suppose tall. I think thanks goes to Paul Mckenna who did a book and CD called Think Yourself Thin, he’s a well know hypnotist and perhaps it worked as I do feel it’s a state of mid. 10 years ago it was all I could think about and I’d end up getting frustrated, now i’m just myself and i’m the slimmest i’ve been.

Good luck to weight losing bees

I’m doing it for the last 2 weeks before the wedding. I don’t really expect to lose a bunch a weight, just to help with puff and bloating. I also find more protein keeps me fuller longer.
