I’m 20 weeks. I weighed around 250 before I got preganant and I’m about 227 now. It’s been interesting trying to find clothes because like you I don’t know what size I am. I’ve been able to get my jeans at Old Navy. I wear a size 18 and I can get them at some stores or I’ve been able to get my pants online. It’s acutally cheaper to get them online during a sale. The same for shirts. I’ve been getting a XL instead of a XXL and that’s been working for me. Since I have lost weight some of my shirts still fit me. I wear my longer shirts. Sometimes I wear a belt with them. I think I look pregnant. People at work can tell… well some of them. My face is skinnier but my stomach is growing so some can’t tell if I’m pregnant or just fat. And I think they are scared to ask cuz they don’t want to offend me so I just tell people. But those who have known I’m pregnant say they can totally tell the difference.

As far as losing weight goes I was worried at first but my doc said I’ll probably be one of those women who end up weighing less at the end of their pregnancy than before they were pregnant.

I think the further along you get the more and more folks will be able to tell that you’re pregnant. About a week ago I was in a store and someone asked me how far along I was which surprised me cuz I thought people just thought I was fat. I told Darling Husband and he said “Of course she asked YOU LOOK PREGNANT!!!”

Here’s a pic of me at 18 weeks and I my bumb has acutally gotten bigger…

I am in the same boat. I have just been able to wear all the same clothes I have worn before so far. I have not started showing really. I started out at 248 and am down ten pounds now. I am 5’2″. Here is a pic of me at twenty weeks. I am almost twenty two weeks and still not a big difference

Oh and Motherhood Maternity has some plus sized clothes as well. They can be a little pricey but worth it if you get a coupon. I haven’t gotten anything from there but other bees on here have and liked it. I think they are good for professional stuff.

I am! I’m only 13 weeks (on Tuesday) and not showing yet. My doctor says he expects me to show around 24-28 weeks. I am short and plus-sized, so I shop at Motherhood Maternity for plus size petite. I am in all my same clothes except for jeans (which never fit me properly until I bought maternity jeans). I weigh the same as I did when I first found out I was pregnant, and I’ve been lucky to miss morning sickness. My doc says he expects me to gain no more than 15 lbs, if any at all. My bet is that you will get that coveted baby bump! πŸ™‚

Me me me! I am overweight and preggers…although I am only 11 weeks right now so I cannot attest to whether or not us plus sized mamas will show and when. However, I love this thread (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/pre-pregnancy-size-12141618-what-did-you-look-like-pregnant#axzz2My00Ow8A) another bee started for mamas who were size 12/14/16/18 pre-pregnancy.

Don’t worry, I’m sure your bump will come in time! I do feel your pain though…I need to get some new clothes (and BRAS!!!) but I am really dreading going shopping. Luckily for now I am doing the rubber band trick to keep my old pants on and most of my looser fitting shirts still fit pretty well.

@mrsjroo:  Belly bands also help to brigde the gap before you buy maternity jeans.

Plus size momma here too.  My 6w appointment put me at my heaviest, and I’ve dropped about 15 lbs since then… up until last week, I started slowly gaining it back.  Dr wanted me to gain no more than 15-20 lbs.  And was completely ok with my weight loss because I wasn’t excessively nauseous or puking.  25 weeks tomorrow and got my first outsider comment this week asking when the baby is due.  I thought up until then that i just looked fat, hubby tells me I don’t look fat I look pregnant.  The belly is there, and looks more defined from the front as a pregnant belly than just flab.  πŸ™‚  You will look pregnant, it may just take some time.

And personally most of my clothes for work (business casual) have been from Old Navy.  I have an Old Navy store by me that has a tiny maternity section, otherwise online with discounts has been amazing.  In the beginning I just bought normal clothes up a size (from 1X to 2X) to hide the belly.  Now I’m in some 1X clothes that fit perfect and some 2X that fit perfect.  It’s odd and depends on the cut.  I also loved the Liz Lange maternity department at Target for reasonable pricing.  The inlaws bought me a gift card for Motherhood Maternity, and there is a pair of gray dress pants I could wear every day of the week.  So comfy!  I couldnt justify spending that amount of money without the gift card though.

I satrted off overweight & have put on pregnancy weight as well. You will definitely show! I popped out at around week 19, and then stayed the same for a few weeks. Now that I’m third tri, you definitely can tell it’s baby & not just regular belly!

@mrsjroo:  the belly bands didn’t help me. I had to keep re adjusting them at work. But I do alot of up and down (sitting to standing/walking) every few minutes.

to all the ladies who’ve just shown their bumps ur r beautiful! u can definatley tell u r all pregnant. i am 85kg/160cm  – 187 pounds/5’3 just married last week & am eating healthily taking vitamins etc & have just started trying unofficially. i too am worried that what if i put on like 70 pounds or just look fat & never have a proper bump especially as im so short. but seeing these bumps makes me feel so much better, growing a baby is a beautiful thing. dont worry about it just focus on being healthy, dressing for ur shape & be happy about the outcome:)

@MrsDW:  I eventually had the same issue cuz I wore a t shirt, tank and then the belly band. But it was a temp fix until I found maternity jeans I liked. I ended up in Maternity jeans around 10 weeks just for the sake of comfort. Jeans at Mohterhood were just too big for me. But I really like the jeans at Old Navy. Especially because they have different styles and colors for ladies in my size. One thing I did notice with the Old Navy jeans is that the ones that have the band just at your waist are too big. I ordered them online. If I were to get another pair I may go a size down. But maternity jeans in general are a little big and tend to fall.

@MrsDTMajor:  I love old navy jeans. The ones with just the band at the waist are ok until they get stretched out & then I shrink them back to normal in the washer. But I bought the full panel ones and they kept falling down. Lol I’m awkwardly sized I guess.
