Yep, I’m a giant. I’m 6’1″, he’s about 5’10-5’11”.

I’m about an inch taller. I’m wearing flats for the wedding and he keeps telling me to wear heels if I want but I want to be comfortable and with his boots he’ll be taller in pictures.

I am four inches taller than Fiance, and frequently wear heels.  He doesn’t care.  I’ll wear flats for the ceremony (will be on the beach) but I did end up getting the heels I fell in love with for the rest of the wedding.

I am an inch taller than SO…

I’m 5’9″ and he is 5’8″. But I’m kind of a sloucher and an inch isn’t all that noticeable.

But he did say I’m not allowed to wear heels on our wedding day! Boo. I love my heels…

I am about an inch taller than my Fiance.  Its pretty noticable though because I also have about 60 pounds on him and a much wider frame than him Yell.  I think its kind of funny because he keeps INSISTING that he is 5’6″ (I am just over 5’5″)

Not actually taller without shoes on (barely the same height, him just a tinesy bit more), but if I’m wearing like, anything on my feet and he’s barefoot, I am just a bit over him and of course with heels, even if he has his nice shoes on, I can easily be a few inches taller than him.

I am always mystified by why people still stress over this.  What does it matter which one of you is taller?

For my first wedding, a bridal consultant tried to tell me I should wear flats so I wouldn’t be taller than the groom.  I pointed out that if I went barefoot, I’d still be taller than the groom.  And getting a different groom seemed like an extreme solution to what was not actually a problem.

And if he is so insecure that he freaks out over the idea of being shorter, you’ve got way more problems than height.  How is he going to react if you are smarter, get more education, have a more successful career, or make more money?  Are you going to spend your whole life limiting yourself so he can always be ahead of you?

@2dBride:  It’s really not a question of stressing out over it; however, it was really helpful at the start of my relationship (when I was more aware of it) to know that there were other people that were this way too.  Especially when you consider the fact that when I introduced my Fiance to a friend of mine this past weekend she started laughing at the build difference…in front of my Fiance and I (she and I are not on speaking terms)

These people exist and it took a while at the start of my relationship for it to be a non-issue.  The more people I knew that helped me realize that body size/type does not matter and the important thing was finding someone you can connect with.  To me, just knowing that there were plenty of couples that had this height difference made me more confident about it (because let’s face it, we all have insecurities that seem silly to others)

I’m 169cm and he is 173 cm so with heels i’m slightly taller. It doesn’t matter to me.

Not actually taller but very close, and my posture is better than his… so we disagree on me wearing heels :-/ (I love them, they make him uncomfortable.)
