I didn’t feel especially nervous the first time I went to try on my dress. But then, after driving all the way to the shop, I found out they had screwed up and ordered the wrong size. I’m a 10. The dress was an 8. After an annoyingly long conversation where they argued for alterations and I argued for a new dress, they promised to order the correct size.

The second time I went to try on my dress, I was nervous. And rightly so – they had ordered a 12. Which I could pull down below my boobs with it fully zipped. The manager claimed that if they ordered another dress, it wouldn’t arrive until late August. I said that was completely unacceptable and basically told her that, if they had to pay for expedited shipping, it was their problem to deal with.

The third time I went to try on my dress, I was filled with a mixture of terror and apprehension. They had (finally) managed to order the correct size, and when I went to check out, I was quoted the full price. I very emphatically explained that I was completely and utterly dissatisfied with that option, and the store owner is supposed to call me within the next couple of days.

I really, really hope your experience involves only tears of joy. Either way, I suspect it’ll be less eventful than mine!
