Try and look on the bright side, at least you’re (hopefully) avoiding all the bridesmaid drama!

Do you have any women that you can help shop for their dress, even if they’re not in the wedding party? Mom, aunt, grandma, etc? It’s not the same as bridesmaids, but maybe it will help you get what you want with some girly shopping.

I don’t think you’re messed up because you want bridesmaids, that’s just what we’re used to seeing in weddings.

I know how you feel. I have no other women in my life and the only person beside me other than Fiance will be my sister who is my Maid/Matron of Honor. As much as I love this, I can totally simpathise!

Screw the dresses and the flowers, it’s really about the people that mean the most to you, standing next to you and supporting you as you pledge to commit your life to someone.  Besides, guys are a lot easier to dress and are less likely to cause any drama 🙂

For our wedding, I’m having a Man of Honor while my Fiance is having his sister as the “Best Woman.” They both think it’s a great idea since they will be standing up with the people they care about.

Like you, I occasionally pine over bridesmaids dresses and going on dress shopping trips ( I went wedding dress shopping on my own too, b/c I live really far away from family and friends). I get bummed sometimes, but I know the day of the wedding will be wonderful because the people in our bridal party mean so much to us, that makes me feel better.

I am sorry you are a little down. It is hard sometimes to let go of dreams. On the bright side you won’t have to go through what I just did with my cuz’s wedding….cat fight in the dressing room. Guys are so much less drama.

My brother is my Dude of Honor, and I really wish sometimes I had a maid of honor, but… it’s just life, I guess.
