I totally felt that way planning my wedding. In fact, I put off planning for the longest time because I just didn’t care. Also, looking at all those wedding checklists of things to plan each month was less than desirable. I eventually started planning because my Fiance at the time, I think , was a little concerned I wasn’t all over planning. TV and movies make it seem like weddings are what ALL girls plan from the age of 5 and can’t wait to plan in their adulthood. Uh, not really.

I agree with PPs on here. If you can assign tasks to people, do it. That’s how I got through planning. My family didn’t get that I didn’t care that much, but offered to help. So I had family and friends help with certain tasks. Also, in the final week or two leading up to your wedding, I highly suggest you become hard to reach. It’s during that time that the most ridiculous stuff comes up that you won’t want to deal with (i.e….the caterers want to use the fridge, but where does the cake get stored? linens lady is short one table cloth so you must pick a new color…that sort of thing). That’s what I found anyways. Let someone else take care of those things.

This.  All of this.  We had our final meeting at our venue on Friday and our coordinator kept asking all these ridiculous questions and when I answered no to 95% of them, she was like “You are so easy to work with it’s throwing me off.”  I felt bad for her, that some couples go so overboard and treat wedding staff like dog poo that because I am a civil person with realistic expectations for my budget that she was “thrown off”.

@kittenbojangles:  We went to a local bridal boutique yesterday to get our colour swatches. They should have the lengths there and they’ll cut you off a piece. Then they’ll have something in person too – the colours we got look completely different to what was shown on screen. And they’ll be able to put that up against things and see if it matches without them bugging you

I was thinking of the red thing for a little while and my brain was storming…

Get a piece of paper, prick your finger and let the blood drop on the paper, circle it and write RED at the bottom of the circle. Send it to them in the mail when it dries.

@happyface:  But what if she wanted FRESH blood red?  Dried blood just isn’t the same.  Now you’ve ruined everything, and mommy and daddy have to get a divorce because you’re bad.

@kittenbojangles:  that sounds like a great company. I’d like to join. Although I think I’d get a bit too creative – surely they would *love* a Princess Bride meets Donny Darko done in shades of grey? Let’s handcuff all the guests to their chairs!
