Hi bees! My Fiance and I recently made the decision to move our Oct 4, 2014 wedding up to August. Summer is a better time for us to get married for many personal reasons, in fact for almost every reason except for one: the weather! We live in Florida and June-August is pretty much miserable here with a high chance of thunderstorms. Because of this, we also decided to move our wedding inside, which Fiance was very disappointed about.
Right now I’m just trying to adjust to this new change. I’m excited that our wedding is moved up a little bit and it’s a better time for both us and our guests to be traveling, but I’m sad thinking that our wedding and subsequent anniversaries will be at one of the hottest/most rainy times of the year!
I just wanted to hear from anyone else worried about bad weather on their wedding day, especially other southern brides having summer weddings. And for those of you getting married in June-August: are you looking forward to celebrating your anniversary in the summer?
Thanks bees! 🙂

My wedding is in the middle of winter and it’s safe to say I’m crapping my dacks at the thought of rain! A little bit of drizzle would be OK, but yesterday for example, just as I was getting out of the car after my bridal shower, it started absolutely pelting rain and my umbrella was no match for it. The whole thing is inside but it’s the getting in and out of venues that I’m concerned about! I guess there’s nothing we can do about it except cross our fingers and deal with it if and when it happens!

I’m not even engaged yet, but there’s no way I’d have an outdoor summer wedding (I live in the South too). My bf and I both hate summer because of the unbearable heat, and we’ve both agreed we’d never get married in the summer. Although outdoor ceremonies are beautiful, I wouldn’t have one simply because I dont want that one added stress when the time comes.

Yes! 🙁
The weather this year is absolutely horrid. It’s the middle of summer and we have had perhaps 7 nice days since April (when the snow melted). It just rains every gosh-darned day 🙁
As of right now, rain is expected for Saturday. Sigh. Should never have planned an outdoor wedding.

We are getting next summer in the midwest where it could be hot, humid, rainy, or a combination of all three! I’m worried mildly, but it goes with the territory of planning a summer wedding (or one in the midwest for that matter!). I also knew we had to pick a place that had a plan B option. The plan is for the ceremony to be outside, but will be moved indoors to reception area if weather is bad.
I work in education so summer is most feasible for me since we want to go on our honeymoon right away.

Absolutely. Getting married on a cliff. Could be disastrous.
