I love fantasy football! I literally knew nothing about football until this year when I decided to join my friends (group of guys) and their league. There are only 6 of us but considering I’ve made all of my draft picks myself and did tons of research to learn the sport as fast as I could, I’m pretty proud of my team.
Im 8-3 right now meaning that I’m kicking all of their butts π not bad for the new kid lol.
Funnilyenough, I also did my research and watched all the preseason before I decided to pick the actual team I would cheer for: The Seahawks. pretty proud of that choice so far too lol.
My parents look at me like I’ve grown another head when I show up in Seahawks gear and talk about football but I’m totally addicted now. π

@pinklemonade12: seahawks FTW!!!
Im 9-2 right now and am #1 in a 10 team all women league. Also my first time and I did my own research and draft so I’m pretty proud too! This week though my entire bench is on bye and I’m playing #2 who is projected to out score my team by 25 points so it’s not lookin good for me.

I’m sucking SO hard this year!
All my fantasy guys keep getting injured. And chasing butterflies, apparently, because THEY’RE SURE AS HELL NOT SCORING/RUNNING.
I also LOVE the Falcons! And they seem to have forgotten how to play football.

This is my first FF year too! My family wasn’t into football growing up (2 girls) so I didn’t get into until a few years back, but now I’m hooked! As far as fantasy goes, I think I like it because it brings out my competitive side, lol. Anyways, I’m 9-2, so we must all have a little beginners’ luck! Not to mention being good researchers! π
FTR – Being from the Bay, I am, of course, a (now worried) Niners fan π

@BrandNewBride: About to watch the game now! Fiance has Matt Ryan but has to be at a business dinner tonight, so I’m on watch π
Full disclosure – I definitely had some help from Fiance with the draft, but now I only ask his opinion after I’ve made decisions. But now I feel bad because he helped me in the beginning and his teams aren’t doing as well – but that seems to be the thing about FF – sometimes it just comes down to luck with injuries and suspensions and whatnot!

@Beasha: TOTALLY agree. π
I will be completely honest – I once HATED fantasy sports because it meant we had to watch every game and I did not understand why…until my first week of playing with my own team and then it all made sense, haha! Now Fiance get to spend Sunday afternoons together doing something we both enjoy. I guess the good old “if you can’t beat em, join em” mentality worked out!!

@calisunshine3404: Absolutely true! Last year was my first for fantasy and it wasnt that much fun to start but now that i know whats going on it is. We also do weekly picks and its fun when i beat my husband but he says its because he taught me well!

Wow , nice job ladies!
I would’ve been 9-2 except I lost last week by .38!!! Not even a single point. Such a sad way to lose lol.

@pinklemonade12: Ahhh bummer! Is it a yahoo league? My league is through espn, so they round, which can be a great thing… and also a terrible thing! Fiance says he prefers yahoo’s leagues. I think I’ll be 9-3 after this week though, only projected to win by 3 points, so I’m not getting my hopes up!
Good luck this week ladies!

@Beasha: LOL same goes in our house! So fun to beat the SO when they taught you, until I feel a little guilty. But hey – our league is playing for a VS giftcard, so if I win, we both win?
ETA: I don’t feel THAT bad π

My first year too!! And I have been so surprised with how much fun it is, lol. Guess I should’ve believed my Fiance when he said it was fun!
Although, in full disclosure I think I like the researching and stats part the best Here are the links I use for research, in case any other bees are curious about giving FF a try!

I play. I’m maybe 5th in my league, but 2nd in my division, so I should make the playoffs. This year started out really rough (like, lost my first 5 or something), so I’ve been making a comeback. I have some real duds (Tom Brady, Trent Richardson, etc), but I have a few who have been solid (Calvin Johnson for one).
It’s my 2nd year playing and I’ve really enjoyed it!
