It hasn’t happened very much, but anyone getting this comment – oh, another June wedding? We were going to get married the last week in May, and for some reason, changed it to June. Yes, I know June is a popular month for weddings, sorry, that is the day we decided on.

@emviamama: When someone heard I was getting married they said it’s not in August is it?! I can’t take another August wedding! They have like 6 weddings in August to go to.

@Pixienickie: LOL – so it isn’t just June? Well that makes me feel better.

@emviamama: I would never think to make that comment- I’d say “yaaaayyy I’ll be there-can’t wait” or something like that! June is a beautiful month to get married:)

Due to where I live, I get people thinking I am crazy for having a garden wedding in June. Our weather is unpredictable at the best of times though.

Yeah, I’ve found that people like to make it known to me that I am inconveniencing them by having a June wedding.

i got the whole “your not going to have a valentines wedding are you?” Originally we were… but oh wells. 😛 Now the big concern is that it will be cold. <_<; its florida… how cold can it possibly be?

@Pixienickie: I hear the same thing! There was a big sigh of relief in my friend group when I announced a June date and not an August one!
@torchrunner: I’ve been to cold August weddings and really warm early May and September ones. Canadian weather is fun eh!

FI’s family likes to make it known that the wedding is during planting season and is unconvient. They all live in the same city as the wedding which doesn’t start until four. I’m sorry you’ll have to miss a few hours of planting. Several guests also said they would have to check the Cardinals schedule first to make sure they weren’t playing at night. But I have met several people who are having June 7th weddings.

I’ve never had quite that response, but I do know of a few other June weddings. It’s a popular month for sure. But it’s so beautiful around here that time of year, why wouldn’t it be! Back when I started planning (about a year ago) it was all about October weddings. Everyone and their brother was getting married in October.

@emviamama: I haven’t heard this personally. June is the most popular month of the year for weddings.
June worked best in our schedules as Fiance is still a student and I work in education (i.e. only May thru August, or a two week window in December or April would have worked for us)

I’ve had the ‘oh wow, a June bride!’ comment from 2 different pepole, but thankfully nothing negative. We too wanted the end of May but the venue was booked then.

@MrsYoshida: surprisingly, i onld heard “june bride” once and that was from my dad!.
What I was/am tired of hearing is: “well that is a VERY popular month….Saturdays in June are just expensive…blah blah blah” That was a real pain when trying to find a venue, prices double or MORE for wedding? (yep) Saturday?(yep) June?(yep)!!! I felt like i could hear ppl punching away on the calculator when I asked about price.
