If so, I’m curious on to tackle the good ol’ cultural hall? Unfortunately I’m not getting married in the temple this year. It doesn’t discourage me, it just makes me want to reach for my goal more. What was your reception like? Details please 🙂

Hi there! I had a civil wedding, planning a sealing later on. It’s really up to your budget if you want a cultural hall reception. The best reason I can see for using one is cost, but reallyif, nothing can ever cover up the fact that there’s a basketball court on the floor.
I had a beautiful (and expensive) civil ceremony in an outdoor venue for my husband’s family. They are all Catholic and would have flipped if we were married where they couldn’t go. But they wanted to see us have a traditional wedding, and I am looking forward to our personal special time when we go to the temple. (And we’ll take pictures there too!)
If you like the cost and feel of the cultural hall, go for it! It’s your day. If not, there are plenty of beautiful venues that you can rent for the reception only.
