@NLbride:  I’m from NL and I actually have the same wedding date as you! 🙂

But my fiance is from Montreal, so we’re having our wedding there.

Hope your planning is going well!

I’m from NL, (St. John’s) but we’re having the wedding in the GTA, somewhere…

lol.  I’m from St. John’s, FH is from Amherst NS.  When we went through the guest list and realized that no matter where we had the wedding 75% of the guest list would have to travel we decided to have it where we live.  Seemed to make the most sense.  Sadly, the GTA is STUPID expensive and is causing me a great deal of stress (hence me being up at midnight on a wedding board instead of sleeping).

@NLbride:  LOL – holy, outport doesn’t even begin to descibe your wedding!  I’m sure it will be absolutely gorgeous though!  I’ve never been to Fogo but I’ve seen lots of pictures.  That’s definitely a hard to get to place!

@NLbride:  Hi there!  Fellow Newfoundland bride, right here.  🙂  September 1st for me!  My wedding is in St. John’s though, so like you said, it is a totally different experience…but we do still have to deal with some similar factors, like the lovely unpredictable weather!  Haha!  I also had trouble finding a hairdresser, but for a different reason…my wedding is on the Sunday of the Labour Day weekend, and just TRY finding a hairdresser willing to work on that day!  It was almost impossible.  I finally managed to convince a stylist to open her salon for several hours on that morning to do our hair for us (myself and my girls)…but I am paying her double!  Good luck with your planning.  Your day is coming so soon!

@NLbride:  Girl!!  Online shopping, seriously!  Buy stuff like that on the Internet, from eBay or Etsy.  Honestly, I’m here in St. John’s, and I’ve bought practically no items like that from actual stores here in town.  Online, you can usually get more unique looking items, and for cheaper!  That is totally what I’d recommend.  It’s still only early June, so you’ve got time!  🙂

I’m a Newfoundland bride as well! Not sure when my wedding will be yet though. Sometime after we purchase a house I am guessing. We are hoping to do the wedding and honeymoon for $15k so hopefully that works out for us!
