I’m on a really, really scary path.   We got married 6 months ago. I was the heaviest I had ever been on my wedding day and that number has only gone up.

I’ve always been slim but when I hit 29 and my husband moved in with me (about 2 years before the wedding) I slowly started gaining weight and then a few months before the wedding I was gaining like crazy.  I felt like shit on my wedding day and I’m embarassed by my pictures.  Every profile shot of me I look pregnant!  Horrendous.

Sorry to open an old thread but I just wanted to see more bees thoughts about this.

Oh yes. The struggle of gaining happy weight is real. I’ve gained 8 lbs in 8 weeks since the wedding. Got back on the workout train 1.5 weeks ago and have dropped 2 lbs so that’s good. 🙂

I’ve deeeeeefinitely gained weight, but I’m trying to get back on the eating right and working out wagon, so we’ll see how that goes. DH never gains a pound, of course.

Hi!

I’ve been married 2 years and on average I’m 5-10 lbs heavier. I’m only 5’0, so this isn’t nothing! Doesn’t help that I’ve developed a passion for cooking! 😉 It goes up and down depending on what’s going on.

About 4lbs in 6 months but I can see it sitting right the in my belly. It’s all happy weight, wine, beef, desserts, cheese… I’m not a big girl so 4lbs is a lot. Especially since before the wedding I felt like I could eat anything and sometimes lose weight. ugh. I did joke to my husband the day after we married ‘now that’s done I could go get fat now’

i am trying to be much more careful now. I feel like I have also lost some muscle mass which could mean that 4lbs is closer to 10…

I’ve gained 10 pounds since getting engaged (so many happy celebrations) and am desperately trying to lose it before the wedding (3 months away now…) God knows what I’ll be like after the wedding

I put on some weight since being married. I was injured a year ago and still dealing with the injury so that doesn’t help. I am hosting a santa slim down challenge group. I am going to use the 21 Day Fix program where you are suppose to lose up to 15lbs in 21 days. Anyone is invited to join my group.  I think the more we support each other the easier it will be to get some marriage weight off.

I’ve been married for 2 months, gained 15 lbs. This is awful! Time to start running again!

Losing weight is more about food choices than exercise. It is 80% food and 20% exercise. You can not exercise off a bad diet. I am trying to figure out where my bad eating habits have came from. I do snack a lot, like to have a glass of wine or two, and my sweet tooth is stronger. Anyone else developed bad eating habits since being married?

Ive been married for 3 months and have gained a ton of weight, not exactly sure how much because I havent weighed myself but I can definitely feel it.  I know a lot of it has come from getting settled and not being as active but both DH and I want to change it.  Im going back on myfitnesspal and trying to work out so hopefully it will help.
