@SweetDeeReynolds:  It’s cool to hear that you are in the same field! The guilt is such a killer! It seems impossible to find a balance between school and other areas of life without feeling like I am dropping the ball one way or the other.

@Mrs.HMBucks: I agree! My year has been very structured so far, and I am dying for the semester to end so I can be more self-guided and flexible. But I can also see myself becoming pretty unproductive after a while, and then I will probably want a bit of that structure back!

@Mrs.HMBucks:  I missed this thread the first time around, but will join now :). I defend July 17th and turned in my dissertation to my committee July 3rd. Got edits from one advisor July 5th telling me to rewrite a chapter -.-. Fail. All of this around packing up my apartment, finding a job, and planning a wedding. No sweat right? Surprised

And I agree . .thesis writing is SO BORING. Ugh.

@LovestoTravel:  Pick a major where they pay you to go back, in my case. I’m in an engineering field, so we get paid to do the research for our thesis. All that scientific research out there? Yeah, cheaply provided to you by PhD students who aren’t real employees. It’s weird.

I finished 2 years ago. You can definitely do it! There are some days I think back to my dissertation, and the whole process from stress to tears to doubt to proposing to defending and can’t believe I actually did it all.
