So I’m a street size 14. Fit into most bridal 16s. I’ve been to 3 bridal stores (2 boutiques and the other was davids bridal) & their samples are too small. I can actually fit into maybe 2 dresses (more at DB but wasnt crazy about their plus size selection) and only one is usually okay looking. All of the dresses come in my size but I can’t choose one because I none of the samples are big enough to try them on! Maybe Im just being picky, but Im not ordering a dress I can’t first see on myself. I am so frustrated. I have a year, maybe Ill diet enough to be a popular size…. Here is one of 2 that fit me @ my apt today.

That dress is GORGEOUS. I am a street size 12,14, or 16. Depends on the brand. You and I have the same body shape it looks like. I went to a bridal boutique near me and I felt so bad about myself because I couldn’t fit into their samples 🙁 I have boobs, so squeezing into those tiny dresses was embarassing. I ended up finding my dress at David’s Bridal, it is a size 14 and they had it on hand. I love it.

Thank you, I thought it was very pretty but the skirt isn’t what Im looking for. Yours is a beautiful dress! They never offered that one for me to try on. Honestly, my girl at David’s Bridal kept pulling dresses that just didn’t fit and was just overall unhelpful. (And really put me off by threatening that any dress I showed interest in was about to stop being in season so I better order now! Ok…sure…) I bet there were more great dresses there my size but I didn’t get to try them on. You must be so relieved to have your dress! I am very indecisive and want to try everything on…. 🙂

I’m a street size 14 and I called in advance to make sure the places I visited had a pretty extensive amount of samples in sizes I could try on. One was a boutique who just happened to order half of their samples in sizes 14-24 because of the demand to actually be able to try on the dress that you’re about to throw down thousands of dollars for — the other just happened to have a crazy huge selection (3,000 dresses!) so some of them just happened to be a larger size.
I’m in the midwest, for whatever that’s worth — and agree that you shouldn’t have to settle for someting you don’t love or something are only guessing you love through creative mind wizardry. Call around to different botiques, even if it means a bit of a drive to get there.

you might try a different db. I am the same size as you and I tried on about 5 dresses there, and they all fit. If I had had longer than 2 hours, I would have tried on more. (I am in southern california)
Definitely don’t give up. You have plenty of time. I foget which lines are more geared for us regular-sized people (Maggie Sottero? Essense of Australia?) but I know there are plenty.

Here you should check out these brands they run strictly like size 14+ that way you know when you go to the stores if anything the samples will fit or be too big and at least you can clip them

The dress you have on is very pretty on you. I agree, try some different stores. Call before you go and ask if they have a good selection of bridal sizes 16 and up or search on Google. That is what I did.
