Well I was told (old wifes tale where i come from) that women that are pregnant expecting a boy tend to ‘not glow’ and women that have girls, radiate beauty.

Not sure if it’s true but the reason behind it is that boys bring you grief and take mothers beauty during pregnancy. Girls on the other hand are already beautiful and therefore you have double the beauty in a pregnant woman expecting a girl.

@Lulume:  I hate that old wive’s tale. When people guess that I’m having a girl now, it’s just like, “Nope actually, that old wive’s tale is BS it’s definitely a boy – but thanks for basically saying I look like crap!” Ugh.

@Lulume:  I’ve always heard that one backward. In my area they say that boys make you glow and girls steal your beauty. I didn’t know that one was regional.

Only thing glowing are my zits.  I was cheated of my glow!  I want my money back.  The acne is horrible!!!!!  I’m 11w2d.  I’m glad to see I’m not alone though.  I definitely see other women that look fabulous while pregnant, not me though.

@bunnymama:  Just realized when I read your response that it was being said backwards – I just assumed when I saw that @Lulume: mentioned the beauty thing that it was the whole stupid ‘girls steal your beauty’ thing, I’ve always heard it that way too.

I’ve been told that I’m glowing but I feel like crap. My skin is breaking out constantly in huge cystic zits, my hair is fried, and I’m pudgy at the belly.

The glow is a l i e!

I seriously want to bitch slap the next person that tells me I’m glowing as I’m waddling and breathing heavily down the hall at work usually cuz it’s my 5th trip to pee in an hour. I really think people run out of things to say so that’s what they think they are supposed to say. I’m not glowing…  I’m greasy and sweaty! 29 weeks today…. still more weeks of “glowing” to go.

I heard it’s not to uncommon for hair color to change during pregnancy but I was not expecting mine would change to gray.. -_-

I can’t not pluck them..

@MrsDTMajor:  Hahahaha…my BFFs fiance told me yesterday that I was “glowing,” but it was super sarcastic and completely meant to be a joke because it is just one of those “things” that people are “supposed?” to say? Hahaha…it was pretty funny though 😛 I was all, “OH! The redness from all my zits on my chest must be casting a red glow on my face!”
