I will be graduating in May and getting married in September. I’m ready to be done with school, and more excited to marry Fiance.

I am.

But I’m ‘older’ than most students in my stage of school. I just started school at 25 (26 now) and am working full time and schooling at night. It’s tough, but I’ll get it done.

Yes. I’ll be graduating next year though, right before we get married. Fiance has another year of school after I’m done.

PhD bee. I hate living apart, and it will sadly continue after we’re married. But I feel more fortunate than some in my cohort whose spouses are in the field collecting data in Africa right now!

@Amaryllis: Whoa! Africa is a little more long distance than I’m used to hearing I guess, but that would SUCK.

my fiance will be starting his final year of his Phd right after our wedding.  not like he has classes to take, it’s all research/work.  but the salary is still a grad student salary…

I’m a student graduating in 5 weeks (woo hoo!!) and FH has been out of school for a few years. It’s hard to be long distance (6 hr drive) and planning our November 2011 wedding BUT it’s so exciting at the same time. I love when people stop me at the gym and comliment my ring, because I think it’s so rare for someone to see an e-ring while in college. FH and I have been long distance for 3 out of the 4 years we’ve been together and are so excited and ready to live in the same zip code!! And people are always shocked that I’m engaged and think it’s too young– WHO CARES?! Honestly. Half of the people who say that are in their 50’s and divorced, not exactly marriage advice givers. And the other people are also in college but totally partiers and probably won’t settle down until they’re 40 (which there’s nothing wrong with, but you get my point). Whenever anyone asks why we are getting married so young I always say “Because we want to” and never anything more. We don’t owe anyone an explanation for why we want to be together for the rest of our lives. We were lucky to have found each other in high school, and this just gives us more time in life to spend together 🙂 Good luck, fellow young brides!

@Amaryllis: I can’t imagine Africa, FH is freaking out that I’ll be in Guatemala for a month doing field school this summer. I will have a cell phone and there’s an internet cafe in the village so it’s not like I’m off the face of the planet.

I don’t know how I missed this thread the first go round, but I’m 25 credits from my BA (not including the 17 IP now). 6 this summer, 13 in the fall, and 6 in the spring to finally graduate! We had to squeeze the wedding in honeymoon in the short span I have free this summer- between field school (almost went on one that went to the middle of July, ick) and band week/camp.

Technically my Fiance is in school for another year and a half. He only goes once a year for 6 weeks at a time to end up as a journeyman traders person in the end.
