Um…. TOTALLY!!!  I have three spreadsheets and I have like 20 folders in my email in-box to help organize everything… in addition to my hard copy files which I have in my special wedding binder at home.  It KILLED me to “let” my Future Mother-In-Law plan the rehearsal dinner.  lol  I have to keep telling myself, “It will all be ok… it’s just a big party and celebration…”

Tongue Out

150%..I have a hard time even with people helping me with the planning because I want it perfect and only my way so I know it’s right.  It’s stressful, and I’m to the point where I almost wasn’t this way.

I’ve got spreadsheets and diagrams, and oh my.

My Mother-In-Law tells me it’ll be fine and to just relax, yeah right!!

GUILTY and I dont care lol

If something is wrong I’d rather it be my fault and not someone else or I’d be PISSED

Me too. It is so hard letting go or even accepting help. They move too slow and i hate repeating myself.

@anchors_away:  I had such a hard time. It was so tough that I up and cancelled the wedding and moved it to a destination wedding so pretty much no decisions had to be made. Hahaha.

Me. My Future Mother-In-Law is itching to help plan the wedding. Which I would be fine with if she would just do things the way I want. lol.

Totally guilty. Not that I have many options… I don’t exactly have people begging me to help. I don’t even know HOW to delegate though… I’ve always been one of those “do it yourself” type people (absolutely hated group work in school) so I don’t know how to do things any other way. I think half of it is me being a control freak, half of it is me not wanting to be a burden on other people.

@wederly:  i couldnt agree more.  she is the type that even if its sloppy or done wrong its still fantastic – and im a perfectionist.  dont get me wrong, i love her to death but

@lovelymayday:  THIS!

I wouldn’t say that I’m picky, but when I design something or intend for something to go a certain way, well… I’d rather it get done that way and the only way for me to mentally ensure it goes as planned is if I do it. At least then if something goes wrong it’s on me, not someone else who probably had the best intentions.

Really depends on what it is with me, though – my fiance and I went to go and look at cakes and my words were, “I don’t care what it looks like (within reason) as long as it tastes good”, let Fiance totally be in charge of what the men were wearing, etc. etc. But the invitations? Anything that is printed? The decor of the ceremony/reception? I’m totally having control freak syndrome on those arenas, lol

I’m a total type A and a bit OCD so I have a very hard time trusting others to do things to my standards. But with the wedding a week away I’m going to entrust my sister/MOH to help me with some projects, and of course am going to be trusting my vendors. It is difficult and I’m worried about it, but unfortunately unless I can make several clones of myself I have to rely on them! Thankfully most of my vendors are pretty on it. There’s just a couple who I will be giving a few nudges to next week =-)

Me too! Me too!  I have all these people asking me if they can help with certain things and I smile and thank them and then never take them up on their offer cause I just can’t handle not doing everything myself!

Another pet peeve I have is how people want to help with the “fun” things, but then when it comes down to the details suddenly no one can be found! So i figure in the long run, it’ll be less stressful to just do it all myself so I know it’s taken care of.
