How are you dealing with the extra pressure for your own wedding?
I am constantly being asked about our wedding with a lot of side comments on how it should be the best wedding ever, how easy this must be for me to plan my own wedding and how they all expect to be blown away.
Well guess what? Yes, I’ve been a wedding coordinator for years… but it’s just as hard planning your own wedding, and I’m finding it to be FAR more stressful since people expect so much more from you but the reality is you only have your budget.
I’m keeping many of the details to myself and making sure we have a day that is reflective of us, unique to our personalities but still stretching every penny I can.
How are you dealing with all the added pressure? Any tips?

I’m not engaged yet–but I think it’s coming lol AND I’m already getting those comments! It can drive you a little batty because everyone’s expectations are so high and there is sooo much pressure for everything to be perfect.
To be honest with you I love weddings–I may need an intervention since I’m such a wedding junkie BUT I’ve secretly never thought about what I’d want at my own wedding–ever! I have hundreds of magazines, wedding props, can set a mean table design but I don’t have the slightest idea of what I’d want…that alone kind of freaks me out.
Just remember to take the advice that we give brides…I know you know what it is lol. Are you thinking of hiring a DOC or someone to help along the way? I follow a few planners and as soon as I’m engaged I’m emailing them to somehow assist with my wedding. I know we’re planners but in principle you’re still a Bride so all of the stresses that come with a wedding don’t go away because you’re a planner.
Good Luck and keep in touch!

Im a director and as a means of making extra money I’ve recently started a production company that will take care of photos/video for events including weddings.
I’ll be using my company’s photographers of course, and I do feel a bit of pressure once people take a look at the pics- expecting them to be perfect! I hope they are! 🙂
I would just respond to those kind of comments with a gracious, “I will do the best I can”
