I am in love with Brielle but am wondering how it would look on my 5’2 100lb frame. I am hour glass shaped but everything is just scaled down on me.
Any other petite brides looking into/wearing Maggie dresses? Thanks In Advance

I’m wearing a maggie but I’m wearing a sheath style dress (with just a bit of petticoat). I’m only 4’11” and I think maggie gives us plenty of options, but the Brielle is a very big dress. I don’t think you should be concerned just because you’re petite, I didn’t follow the “rules” either (mine has a dropped waist), but I did feel swallowed in any dress as big as the Brielle. I’d just call around to stores and go try her on, you never know! And if you’re unsure, post the pics here 🙂

i second the calling around to try it on. i’m 5’3″ and at first thought i wanted a huge ballgown. i tried on ambrosia and felt more like it was wearing me than me wearing it. ultimately i decided on lynda (which looks in better in real life than in the pic).
but to be honest? it boils down to what YOU want. if you love the gown and try it on and still love it, go for it!
i will say though that you may have to use you imagination somewhat when trying on dresses. i had issues with the dresses having to be clipped so much that it was hard for me to see how one my size would actually hang on me.

i’m 5’3 105 lbs and wearing sabelle 🙂 i say go for it if you like it. this is the only day you’ll ever be able to get away with wearing something so extravagant!

I called one dress shop and they don’t have her but they have one similar. I guess I will call our local Bridals of Regis Park and ask if they carry it.
Miss Birdy- do you have any pics of you trying on your dress?

I am a Maggie Bride and I am 5 foot tall and run about 120ish. My dress is Ericka and I actually ordered it in a petite size! However, being on the small side I tired on a few dresses that were just too much and were almost more then I could walk in. Brielle does look like a lot of dress and keep in mind satin in heavy. Keep shopping! I saved almost 400 on Ericka by pricing it at different stores!

Here is a pic of me in my dress… I don’t know if it will help, but I love to show her off anyway!

Your gown is beautiful maemejo! Thanks for posting! Which one is she?
I know the gowns are pretty heavy… that is another thing I am worried about.
Originally, being tiny and hourglass I wanted to show off my figure. The more I looked at dresses the more I realized I wanted something more dramatic. More dress. More WOW lol. I feel like this is the only chance for me to get away with wearing something like that.

I too am in your same situation…i am 5 foot 2 and 110 lbs. When i was trying on dresses i was sure prior to going i didn’t want a big ballgown to overwhelm me…and i solidified that feeling when i tried one on. I also tried on the dress above “Ericka” and it was a front runner for me as well and i actually thought it was pretty light weight compared to most dresses. Ultimately, i chose Maggie Sottero and Midgley ASM3249SA and i must say I LOVE IT!!! I ordered mine in a petite size also.
It actually just came in last Tuesday and i went on Friday to try it on and was so ecstatic that i cried.. and girls i mean meltdown cried! I was just so excited and happy with my dress… I truly think Maggie Sottero (and Sottero and Midgley) collection has SO much to offer for petite brides.
I will try to post some pics soon =) i’d love to see what some of you other gals look like in you “Maggie” dresses also =)
Good Luck girls!

I would suggest looking at fabrics other then satin. They can have an impact and don’t tend to be as heavy or overwhelming. I really don’t know what style you are looking for, but taffeta, tulle, and organza is a lot lighter… I was a bridal show model and taffeta can have the dramatic look of stain without the weight
Just a few ideas…
