I was just sitting and leaning forward with my elbows on my knees and all of a sudden thought, oh no am I squishing the baby?! And even though I wasn’t uncomfortable and I know I’m not squishing the baby I still felt the need to google it just to make sure.
Anyone else find themselves coming up with silly things to worry about while pregnant?

I didn’t actually google it, but every time I sneeze I think “oh man, hope you’re ok in there little guy.”

Haha I look stuff up randomly too. I even called the doctor once (so far) because I was having pain and thought I was going into labor lol at 17 weeks. It was just “growing pains” but I wanted to make sure.

LOL! I was just looking at Weddingbee and read your post aloud to my husband. He laughed and said, “That’s totally you.” I am guilty of looking up every little thing with this pregnancy. I realize it’s silly, but I can’t help it. Plus, I feel some comfort in knowing someone has usually asked the exact same question I have. Makes me feel less crazy. 🙂

I do this. I probably would have bothered the doctor 10 x more if I didn’t. Instead, I breeze in the doc’s office feeling like a pro because I know my achy hands, cramped leg, tightened uterus, and thirstiness is all just par for the pregnancy course. Viva la Internet!

Good to know I’m not alone.
I went on a run with my husband yesterday and he looks at me and goes, I wonder if a baby can get shaken baby syndrome from you running around while pregnant. He was joking but I’m like I’ve worried about it, don’t make me paranoid again!

@troubled: haha..I wanted to google the same -squishing the baby- question too but I couldn’t think of what to type in as key words. OH, here’s a little research tip I learned in Library and Information Science school that might cut down on your googling time. Put your words in quotes if you want them to stick together in the search results. For example, type “paranoia in pregnancy”. It narrows it down so you don’t get all of the unrelated paranoia results with the pregnancy results.

@808bride: Thanks for the tips. I was definately not going anywhere near images when I googled it and was really hoping my husband didn’t walk over and ask what I was doing.
I also added pregnancy and leaning foward or bending over so nothing gross came up luckily, probably because there were plenty of other pregnant ladies posting about similar concerns. But as long as I add pregnancy to my search it seems to bring up the baby forums as the first hits no matter what weird concern I have.

Oh gosh, I think I paged Dr. Google once a week at least! I was pretty bad about that, but I also was blessed with several very rare complications that always made me think that something else was going weird/wrong.

I have the same fear about squishing the baby!! I am always adjusting how I would mormally sit or lay down even though we are only still early on in the first trimester. I also worry about whenever I use the “restroom” *wink*wink*, when I sneeze, and when I stretch in bed. It is going to a be a long pregnancy but I think over time my fears while eventually subside. Or hopefully they will.

I totally did this when I was pregnant — I think it is just natural to worry… makes it easier with google at your finger tips too though!
