I stayed at the Grand Palladium Palace with my family (it’s family friendly) but the Royal Suites were next door. We didnt’ share a beach (they had a private one), but all the couples staying there (adults only) could eat at their restaurants and come to the other resorts where we stayed. From the outside it looked AMAZING. Swim up pools, butler service, amazing. I would recommend the Grand Palladium chain… I really want to go to the Suites with my SO next time 😉

I’ve stayed at Dreams in Punta Cana.  It was great, and I’m awfully picky.

We stayed at the majestic and we LOVED it! (this was with my family when I was in college). I can’t remember if there were any kids or not to tell you the truth. Actually, I don’t really remember any details except we loved it lol. I know it was one of the best deals, and they had recently remodeled or opened (can’t remember which). I think there were a couple other resorts at the time that were supposed to be “better” but we were more than satisfied.

@Juliepants:  The resort will tell you to stay on the property. Of course, we didn’t listen, and went to the local super market. I didn’t think it was dangerous or anything. I have seen a lot in NYC after all! Lol. But the children there make you so sad, they are beggars at 3-10 years of age. So sad. Of course they know tourists will be around and me and my fiancé were suckers and gave them all our cash on hand. Lol

Like many other people apparently, we are going to Majestic Elegance. They have “elegance club” which is an adult-only section (beach/pool/rooms), so while the whole resort is not adults only, if you pay the small upgrade, you can stay in adult-only section. We are doing “elegance club” – but the cheapest room possible. For 8 nights, flights from Los Angeles, transportation from airport, and travel insurance, we paid about $3200. Oh and of course it’s all-inclusive!
