I have my real estate license, but I am in Kentucky. It sounds like they are trying insure that they will get paid for the transaction. Sometimes buyers/renters will find out information about a property from  a real estate agent and then directly contact the seller/landlord hoping that to get a better deal without using an agent. It could also be a privacy/safety thing.

You might be better off working with an agent because then you could haveaccess to all of the information for the houses/apartments on the market. I found that it was so hard to get the address of a listing on our own when we were buying a house but we were able to get all of this information from our agent.

Very annoying for sure. You should take a couple days after looking to do your research. A bad management company can ruin a wonderful apartment building unfortunately.

I don’t know what it’s like in NYC, but here in Ontario and you’re working with an agent you sign an agreement for X months with them that they will do the work for you.  I do think it’s weird that they aren’t giving you the address if that’s the case because if you signed something then they are guaranteed either way.

@hilsy85- I’m sorry I’m exhausted today and didn’t read the post right the first time. That’s weird that they won’t give you the address where you are going to meet. In my experience we were given the address of the houses that we were going to view and meet our realtor at with as much advanced notice as possible.
