My hair fell to the middle of my back (I’ve since cut it to the shoulders), and this was my wedding hair:

ETA: I just saw your note about “no pinned curls.” Sorry.

cbgmtx:  For the record, my hair doesn’t hold curl well, either. If your stylist knows what she’s doing, and the pinned shape has some structure (in my case it was kind of a “bun”), it will still look pretty as the curls fall. Because they will be pinned in place, they can’t go completely flat. They might just soften a bit (the second of the photos I posted is my hair roughly 8 hours after it was styled).

Hm… your stylist didn’t really follow your inspiration photo. Maybe bring her photos that show the back more? Because she made it perfectly smooth, whereas your inspiration photo looks like it has some texture to it. I’ve got long hair (5 inches past my shoulder & I’ve still got 3 months to the wedding for it to grow more) and I’m doing the hair trial tomorrow. My hair holds no curls, so I’m avoiding pinned curls, too. I’ll post pictures tomorrow! For now, here are some of my inspirations:

^ I think it’ll be more full than the second one, because of all my hair… We’ll see!

Here’s mine. My hair goes down to my lower back but in order for this do to stay and look so full, he had to use a whole set of extensions and a massive bunsock/sponge on the bun area.

cbgmtx:  I’d talk to your stylist to check that you’re safe cutting off some inches (s/he may have specifically based all the plans on longer hair), but yeah, if you’re wanting a style that works best on short hair, I see no problem with cutting your hair shorter!

My hair was about mid back and doesn’t hold curls well, so this is what I went with.

I have curly hair and I was told to straighten a couple of days before, then it was curled, brushed, teased and brushed again on the day before it being styled. hair was a mission and my most feared part of wedding planning. I ended up loving it after deciding not to go with my inital trial hairdresser.

I love the loose, messy look too but not all hair is made to look good that way and a lot of these photos we see on Pinterest etc aren’t of real brides ans a lot of these styles won’t hold after a couple of hours. speak to and listen to your hairdresser. Give them suggestions of the styles you like but like the example from your trial, it won’t necessarily look the same and there may be a reason for it.
