videotapemywedding.com, digitalprincessproductions.com (Mrs. Meatball used them; their cheapest package is $1000 from what I gathered), and (I hate to say it) Craigslist.

Also check out local universities with film programs and/or art schools. These kids will charge less if it means they can build their portfolio! Talk to the advisors of relevant programs.

I booked Today’s the Day.  They offer uneditted packages (which you can edit later when your bank account has recovered) and a few different editted packages depending on you budget.  They offer 3 cameras at the ceremony which I haven’t seen elsewhere.  They received great reviews on Project Wedding and Joe – the owner – always responds very quickly through email and even sent me a thank you note after we booked him.  We haven’t had our wedding yet but from the pricing to the great customer service, I can totally recommend them!

I just had a meeting with Pristine Videos (www.Pristinevideos.com)… great prices and I was totally impressed with their quality. They showed us several videos with great editing, great audio, etc. I’m booking them…they are best I’ve seen for their price range. They offer $500 unedited packages and have a special right now for 1095 for 7 hours totally edited. good luck!

check around at some of the film schools in the SoCal area — you’re WELL situated to find a budding young videographer with loads of talent!

OUr videographer was amazing….www.silasbarker.com  and was way less than $1000!  He is in Sac, so even with traveling you could be under $1000.  You can check out like 10 weddings on his website, ours is under Jenn and Dave!!!

We’re using a recent film school grad who’s charging just $500 for the entire day to jump start his business.  He’s making an edited video but also giving us the entire unedited reel.  Before going into investment banking, Fiance considered being a film maker and actually made some student films in college.  We figured he can always go back and make us a super cool edited version as a personal project later on down the road if we don’t love the one our cheap videog does (and maybe we will love it anyway!).  If you get the unedited reel, you can always find someone to make a more stylised video for you later when you have the etra cash, perhaps as an anniversary gift.

not sure if anyone needs a videographer, but we love, love, love our wedding video and it was VERY affordably priced. We used RayJoyce. Our wedding video blew us away. And they were our favorite vendor–friendly and easy to work with. Can’t say enough good things…i’m so glad we hired them. PM me if you have any questions about our experience.
