We’re not cat people either, but Darling Husband really wanted a pet and then this skinny stray half-grown kitten turned up on our doorstep. We’ve had him for a few months, and, despite allergies, he has grown on us and we love having him around πŸ™‚ His name is Oscar.

My family was always a “dog only” kind of family. It wasn’t until I met my Darling Husband that I had my first cat, a little stray we adopted together, but had to surrender due to our apartment complex. Ever since having her, I’ve been hooked. We plan on adopting a kitty within the next 150 days. We are so looking forward to having a cat again, I started a countdown. πŸ™‚

@redheadem: Haha, yeah my Darling Husband is very attached to Oscar. Oscar likes him much better than me! Darling Husband has had lots of dogs before, but this is his first cat so maybe that is why.

My Darling Husband LOVES our cat, as do I…we may be a little obsessed with her. We even talk about her when we are gone lol! We are always talking to her and spoiling her. She is definetely a daddy’s girl. We will never admit that to our friends….but I can admit it on here πŸ™‚ I dont think Darling Husband was super sold on a cat when I first brought up getting one, he finally agreed (his parents had cats, but he never did personally)…and then one day he came home from work and there was a kittin sleeping in bed with me. lol…so long story short, hes grown to love her to death.

We did not get our cats just to get a pet. But I had two of our cats before we even moved in together. πŸ˜› I have always been an animal person in general. I have always wanted to own a dog but could only own cats in my parents house. So maybe I did get them just because but I always loved cats before hand. haha After my husband & I got our own place we got another cat. Then I thought we would never get another animal but could not pass up our dog Sophie when we saw her at the animal shelter which we would go to just to look. πŸ˜›

So we have three cats & one dog. We love them all four like children! πŸ™‚ (Your cat is adorable btw!)

Here is Jax & Doe Doe. Jax is the bigger cat:

@redheadem:

Yes, exactly! Though I will always love dogs, I’ve officially crossed over. I love my felines. Nothing compares to there motorized purrs.

I actually never liked cats. Now I have two! We got our first cat for our daughter and then we got him a friend! My husband is all about the cats, and our daughter is very happy with them. Surprisingly I love having them here. They are funny little dudes. I don’t fawn over them or treat them like kids, but we’re cool!

Darling Husband and I have both always been dog people, but with our schedules and our small apartment getting a dog would have been cruel.

So we decided to get a cat instead. I am really not a cat person, but our cat Tommy is awesome.

He’s got SUCH a big personality. He greets us at the door like a dog, sleeps on our bed (usually in between us splayed out on his back) every night, he rolls over and asks for belly rubs, and will touch his nose to yours and give you a “kiss”.

He’s also huge. He’s 15lbs and completely lean at that weight. He can put his front paws on the dining room table and his head comes well above the table. So he’s bigger than most toy and small dogs.

He also LOVES the balcony at our new place:

And with is kick-a-roo:

He has become such an integral part of our little family. We even went through the whole process of shipping him from the US to the UK so that we didn’t have to be separated from him.

I have always been a dog person.  FI and I actually already had four of them.  Then one day we found a litter of 4 kittens whose mama had hidden them in a trashcan full of old yard toold in the backyard.  We brought them inside, and started contacting everyone we knew to adopt them.  The 2 tuxedo males were adopted the next day–one of them lives with FI’s best friends in the same subdivision we do.  The tortie girl was adopted a few days later.

By the time we had someone interested in the little calico girl, she had already been at our house a couple of weeks, and despite my best efforts, I had gotten attached to her.  We decided to keep her ourselves.

This is Cammy as a baby:

And this is Cammy now:

Ok, she looks a little goofy in that picture.  She’s really a beautiful cat, but she doesn’t photograph well.
