I have a plain platinum band and I love it! It is simple enough that it doesn’t compete with my 3 stone engagement ring, but since I chose a slightly thicker one (3mm) it’s substantial enough to wear on its own. And I like that I can wear it for outdoor activities, sports, etc. without worrying about damaging or losing diamonds.

I always wanted plain, now that I have it I go back and forth on wanting more sparkle and appreciating the elegant classic look of metal.

No regrets, here are our rings. I wanted a classic look.

My wedding band is vintage and it has diamonds but I always wanted to get a plain engraved band to wear with and without my set. I got one about a month ago and I’m so glad I did. I almost never take it off. I love it!
I plan to have it engraved with our initials and wedding date on our next anniversary, even though it’s not technically my wedding band. My actual band is too thin to do that with, plus this will make the new band special. An “anniversary” ring, even though those are usually diamond bands. I don’t mind being different!

whiteheadtobe : nope! I also have an oval and got a plain band (: every once in a while I’ve tried sparkly bands on with my ring and i never like them together. So i feel like i made the right choice (: i do, however, plan to get a sparkly “push present” for when i finally finish my dissertation (;

whiteheadtobe : I have had it for five years! No regrets!

whiteheadtobe : no-ish? I never wish I had gotten a band with stones but I do often wish my band were a bit wider, or that I had gotten an engraved band rather than a two step one

nani9 : do you know the mm on your rings?

whiteheadtobe : Both are a 2mm I believe. They are both from James Allen.

Looks like we are ring twins!!
I also decided to go with the plain band that matched my ring. I love how it lets the oval stand out on it’s own.
I may get a sparkly stacker sometime in the future, but for now I’m so excited I get to wear my under rated set soon!

pamplemousses : I also got a 3mm plain platinum band (comfort fit), and I love that I can wear it on its own or with my e-ring (a diamond with small sidestones)! I keep my wedding band on all the time, so it’s great that the plain band is hardy enough to wear when I’m traveling, cooking, cleaning, etc., yet it doesn’t compete or blend in too much when I choose to wear my e-ring. I think it’s the best of both worlds. I do have a diamond infinity band I can wear with it if I want to, but so far I haven’t wanted to.
