eat at the dinosaur bbq- delicious food!

at the end of May the lilac festival takes place- definately worth going to!  Part of the park where the festival takes place is basically filled with lilac bushes and when they all bloom it is gorgeous and smells amazing.  During the festival they have a bunch of vendors selling crafts and live music and food.

there is apparently a new chocolate and wine bar downtown- it wasn’t there when I was, but apparently although slightly overpriced it is pretty nice

I’m trying to think what else….

the old toad is a pretty cool bar downtown that is run by English business students.  Unfortunately you will miss trivia night (monday) which is alot of fun

Do you have Wegmans where you are from? If not it is the BEST grocery store ever and when you have time go to the Pittsford store

I’m from CA, but visited Rochester recently. SO talked me into a Nick Tahoe’s garbage plate. Looks gross, thought I’d hate it – but its so good 🙂 Also, I had frozen custard for the first time. Never even heard of it before. Apart from chains, alot of the food was so different from what I am used to – but it was so good.

I was only there for a few days so I didn’t see much. We walked through Mount Hope Cemetary which was cool. I didnt realize so many historically significant people were from this area.

We also went out to the beachy area by the lake, but it was really stinky. I’ve been told its polluted.

Wegman’s is the best grocery store ever! congrats on your new job!

apart from all the restaurants mentioned, there are a couple of fun restaurants in Corn Hill landing by the river. Virtu, Siam, Tony D’s (best pizzeria in Roc that I have been to), Itastea etc..

In general. Southwedge, Park Ave, East ave, all these areas have great restaurants/bars..

An yeah, Lilac festival is an absolute must.
