I’m a 9/18/11 bride… but I can’t start DIYing until he gives me the ring. For now, I’m more than willing to bounce ideas… heaven knows they’re all percolating in my brain all day!

I’m a 9/1/11 DIY bride! Garden wedding with a wine-theme. Soft, romantic and elegant. I’ve been engaged for a month and I’m having a BLAST planning! In fact, I just started a blog about my wedding planning!

I’ll be DIY-ing all my stationary, centerpieces, flowers, and any other decor.

I’m a 9/10/11 DIY bride and I’ve started my DIY projects already.  ๐Ÿ™‚  My colors are very Fall (even though it’ll still technically be summer…argh!) and all the flowers and such are on clearance at the craft stores right now.  I got freaked out when I went on my first foray for pomander flowers and the ladies at Michael’s told me that nearly all the Fall stuff would be gone in a couple of weeks.  I’ve since scoured two different Michael’s and abour $400 later I have all of my flowers for my pomanders, centerpieces and accents.  If you’re DIY and are doing Fall colors, I’d advise you to hit the craft stores now!

I just made my first pomander last week and, silly as it may sound, it was so exciting!  Now I just have to make about 13 more.  I’m DIYing all the decorations, card boxes, etc., and SO will be helping me with the Save-The-Date Cards, invitations, and escort cards.

I’m getting married Sept. 10, 2011 at a berry farm. My colors are sangira, orage, and yellow. I really wanted a fall wedding but I live in PA so who know whats the weather will be like in October. I’m trying to DIY as much as possible, because I’m super crafty and so are my bridesmaids, plus I’m on a tight budget, so I’m trying to be as thrifty as possible. I’m also really into photography, so I’m trying to find someone who will just take pictures so I can edit and print them myself. Happy planning!

Um wow, I can’t believe I didn’t even think about the fact that I’ll need to grab the fall stuff from the craft store NOW, since it’d way too close for comfort to try getting next year – weeks before the wedding. DUH. Thanks for this thread! Michael’s here I come…where’d I put those coupons…

@FutureSpice: im sure you can get stuff online and you might even get it cheaper after season… dont stress yet the internet works magic like that!!! I am NOT a DIY because I can justify my time to just buy it…. Although I keep trying to DIY stuff (Invites, flowers), our family says the same thing, just order it, or just go to the florist and call it a day!

I am getting married on September 24th 2011.  We (I really mean me) are doing most of the diy-ing – flowers, centerpieces, candy buffet, invitations, flowers and bar.  I am spurging on the catering and a tent for my back yard wedding.  We have a huge yard and I want it to be simple and elegant.   Ihave a uncle and two friends that do photography and then I will upload them to snapfish or something to create an album.  My colors are black/white demask with purple.

@weddingdiva-in-training: I’m a 9/10/11 DIY Bride ๐Ÿ˜€

However our reception is going to be on 9/17/11 due to the fact that we’re having a destination wedding in Vegas.

Our reception is going to be informal BBQ, however I’m going to make it look classy! Our main color is Navy Blue. I don’t want to have a casino/Vegas themed reception, however I’d like to incorporate small Vegas details into the decore.

My big ideas right now were to have different colored Japanese lanterns hanging from the ceiling to resemble the colors of the Strip at night. I was also thinking of personalized casino chips as favors… so many ideas running through my head ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m a 09/03/2011 bride! I just finished my first DIY project today, which was a sign with our names that we’ll use for the engagement party/ceremony and probably reuse for engagement photos and the morning ceremony at my house on the day of the wedding.

Other DIY projects on the horizon but haven’t started yet: paper flower garlands, painting our wood initials, decorating our cardboard cupcake tree, ceremony pew decor, favors, thread ball ornaments over the dance floor, photo backdrop, photo slideshow, guestbook tree, and probably a lot more! My brother is designing the print stuff like invitations, programs, menus, table numbers, etc, but we’ll of course help with any assembly. So much to do… and make! ๐Ÿ™‚
