minniesmom :  My loose spinels wil find their way into projects at some point. Realistically, they will probably end up in rings, as that’s the type of jewelry I wear the most. Well, rings and earrings. I used to wear necklaces, but haven’t in years.

I am pretty sure they will both go into rose gold, with yellow gold being a contender for the setting on the purple stone. But I haven’t quite decided on the type of setting I want for them yet. For now, I have them stored in my little gemstone case. And I pull them out every so often to look at and enjoy. (That sounds kind of pathetic, doesn’t it? Ha, ha!!) I also have some cute little heart-shaped melee sapphires that are yellow, and I was thinking they could make nice sidestones in a setting, particularly for the pink spinel — sort of like a “pink lemonade” look or inspiration … ??

The fun thing with gemstones is that the possibilities are endless. But that’s kind of a scary thing, too. And I just purchased two more stones (not spinels) tonight. It seems I’m hooked! LOL tongue-out

Here’s my black spinel 🙂 I’ve upgraded my ring so I don’t wear this one everyday anymore but I always end up missing it eventually and wear it again for a few weeks.
